I 100% agree with you. Saints the Third is what I would WANT to be GoTY. Unfortuantly their seems to be much love for it by gamers and critics alike but it always seems to go un-noticed compared to the other big name titles.A-D. said:Personally for me its going to be Saints Row 3. I dont give a flying fuck about about Skyrim. didnt care for Oblivion either. Deus Ex is a bit meh personally given the move backwards to "Lets make it a Male only Protagonist" after Deus Ex 2 had the option of being either gender, though it still has a chance to win, given the series being as successful as it was, but that may be a DNF Moment, i.e. the "old nerds" expecting the second coming from nostalgia. So it may turn out bad too, Deus Ex that is :3
Other contenders for it would have been ME3 for one, but thats pushed off. Portal 2 prolly wont win it, while the game is fun and interesting, the Idea isnt new anymore and having just the humor and fun but short gameplay may not save it a top spot. Everything else so far has too little concrete Info to judge, at least in my Opinion. But in any case, its really that any game could win, as long as the Game turns out to be awesome.
And what's wrong with that? The Elder Scrolls games are amazing games. I have never once had one of them be extremely buggy upon me, but that's probably due to me never playing them until at least a couple of years have gone by since release.bahumat42 said:despite it look to be just another elder scrolls
Then why are you saying that Portal 2 has changed so much from Portal? It added a few new mechanics, but kept the same core gameplay idea from the first one. The same is probably true of Saint's Row, but I haven't played any of those games yet.bahumat42 said:U may have a point about asscreed (regardless of the fact they are still beautiful games), but both portal and saints row have actually looked to evolve and change within their relative subgenres so much as to be different beasts with each number.
I'm not saying skyrim will be bad. just more of the same, i expect more from a sequel in this day and age.
That chart is perfect. But it doesn't just apply to games, How many times have you been disappointed by a "great" movie/book/[insert pretty much anything here], but pleasantly surprised by one you didn't even care about?bahumat42 said:It added many new gameplay mechanics (although the only way to experience them together so far is the custom maps been made), several new relevant and decent characters, and most importantly CO-OP.SinorKirby said:Then why are you saying that Portal 2 has changed so much from Portal? Anyways, the exact same thing is true of Skyrim when it's compared to Oblivion. The menu system has been tweaked, they revamped the combat so that it's faster and more fluid, the class system has been completely wiped out meaning that what you do really shapes your character, the dual wielding, etc. It's definitely changed much more from Oblivion than Portal 2 has from Portal.
They moved some of the numbers around in skyrim, when your playing it there will be very little change to how it is played. And as shiny and pretty as the game is, i think heralding it as the next coming of jesus only does a disservice to the people who hype it.
Lest we forget this lovely chart.

Lol. That is true. I totally remember being in the lower right after the hype I had felt for Brawl wore off.
