What will be GOTY for 2011?

Probably a toss up between The Witcher 2 or Skyrim. If Skyrim lives up to the quality of the Elder Scrolls series then it will take it hands down.

The Witcher 2 is my GOTY.

Now looking at the community of the Witcher 2 fans and Elder Scrolls ones which is as big,if not bigger than the CoD community,I think because of that and the ammount of fan base,Skyrim will be awarded the title.

Granted, there isn't a whole lot else I can find that could compete, unless you think another installment of Call of Duty is worth getting excited about. The only title I really care about at this point is Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

No, seriously tough, if the dev team improves the last games problems (IEoor AI, average shooting mechanics) and polishes the ambiance and story, you've got a pretty solid game.

Else, i'm a cynic that hates every games I haven't tested, so anticipation is out of the window ^^'

Every single choice for GOTY so far in this thread has been a sequel rather than an original concept - other than LA Noire. Sure - those sequels can be great games; but it seems to me that developers are just getting lazy and sticking with steadfast ideas rather than being creative.

Team Bondi and Rockstar get my respect and GOTY nomination for that. And the game was very very very awesome.

I predict a three-way battle between Deus Ex 3, Uncharted 3 and Skyrim.

Although, I think L.A. Noire stands a chance, the game shows great promise. Hopefully a sequal will refine on everything and make a truly amazing game.

i wish it was going to be Saints Row: The Third, but it's most likely going to be typical GOTY-bait such as Modern Warfare 3, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, or Rage.

So far? Dragon Age II. But I'd be surprised if Skyward Sword doesn't obliterate it.

There have been a number of titles that I thought were pretty good this year, but not much that I really loved. Dragon Age II is the only one so far.
