Oh, and there still hasn't been a thread entitled
"What video game character riding what mythological creature would you most like to have on your side during the zombie apocalypse whilst a hurricane is going on and you're on fire? And what pokemon would you have at that point?",
so I think we're fine for thread topics for a while yet. (If anyone makes that thread and I see it, I will cry. Also, Alex Mercer riding on the back of a dragon. And Blastoise.)

I tried to make that thread just for the fun of it, but there's apparantly a character limit on titles...

I was going to send you the link and everything. It would have been predictably funny

I figured someone would, I just thought it would take longer than that. I'm glad to hear there's a character limit on titles though; no crying for me! Imagine if I hadn't put that pokemon question in. I'd be screwed...

Actually, it goes as far as...uh...somewhere between "Creature" and "Side"

That's actually bizarrely short. And I'm now offended that my madcap unanswerable topic can't be made into a real discussion. Unless the thread title was just another zombie apocalypse question... with a twist! and the question itself was in the first post?

I should really stop thinking about how to make this thing work. That's your job now!

We're primarily a gaming website, are we not? With new games coming out all the time, there's ample new topics to be brought about, honestly i don't see it as an issue.

I think the day people start having conversations in a thread is the day Lenin rises from the dead to lead humanity into a new era of perfect communism. Of course I'm not against this, I'm just trying to converse.

I just think that it would be nice if people remembered a little more how to communicate with each other. I look at a lot of the topics in this off-topic area and they are just graveyards where you can tag on a thought or idea that people don't seem to read just to pad post counts

And then I go back to Religion/Politics or Games and ignore this bit for another week or so. I think it's a damned shame, I see some interesting people with interesting ideas and lots and lots of tumbleweeds.

Could just be my perception of course, I concede that point immediately.

It just amused me to see a topic about what happens when we might have to stop posting/communicating via the board...when it seems that we don't really start.

Well, the way I see it is that Religion/Politics and Gaming mostly (okay, gaming maybe a bit less) contain specific topics with a good discussion potential, whereas offtopic has more of a geniuses blackboard; chaotic, full of good ideas and scraps but very loosely connected. Or it's just about venting anger, but that is again something different.
So I personally am okay with offtopic's shortposts, although I agree a little more conversation a little less posting (reference anyone?) would certainly improve the general atmosphere.
