I smell bullshit. She was not a sexual fantasy, stop sexually analysing everything based on whatever you read in a Freudian textbook.

Nausicaa was a girl in touch with nature, her empathy and determination, not just for the Earth but for human life, embodied positive feminine traits. She represents a virtuous female power fantasy. A fantasy all too oft overlooked or dismissed as a male domination fantasy. This is not to say that male power fantasies are somehow evil. I tried to explain before that power fantasies need not be evil, dark, brutal, or otherwise... There are plenty of virtuous, "positive" male power fantasy characters, but these are also overshadowed by the prevalence of dark and edgy anti-heroes.

Aside from her, I havent seen any other character that might be unilaterally claimed as a Female Power Fantasy.
Hahahahhaha! You're joking, right?

More like a Female Dependence Fantasy.

Female power fantasy characters that aren't total jack off material for men as well? How about Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and San from Princess Mononoke? Both remarkably strong willed characters whose epidermis is mostly covered.

Then again, I'm a man.
Nausica is Miyazakis Male Domination Sexual Fantasy, he has a total hard on for strong independent women that can do everything and in the end rescue the prince.
but should that disqualify that as a possible 'female power fantasy'? cause, any personality type you can name, can fall into 'so and so sexual fantasy'.

No...that's Mary Sue fanfiction self insert girl.

Do not want.

Characters who are written as men tend to be spot on, like femShep or femHawke because we really don't want that much different from guys. Power, intelligence, respectability. Any female character outside of that seems to get twisted into a 'sex symbol' or 'white magic girl'

FF10 Yuna was a pretty good character :p thinking about it. She was introduced as a kind of 'white magic girl' but then revealed herself to be a pretty strong character and not in need of rescuing.

Possible, we would need actual female input in this thread before we were able to reach a conclusion.

She has a group of guys following her around doing her bidding as well as inhuman monsters with super strenght that take her every word and wim as a command from a divine will.

The way she cockteases the wolf dude alone is a representation of power.

Yuna, yeah I can see how that ouwld work, specially taking FFX-2 into consideration. In both games the story pretty much revolves around her journeys, despite how much blondie whines and bitches about how its his story.

What a joke. She is the embodiment of Stephanie Meyer's lust for vampire cock.

Exactly. That intelligent, silent resolve seems to resonate with a lot of girls. There need to be more heroines similar to Yuna's perspective.

Female here, don't men jack off to everything? There are men to fap to male power fantasies, but that doesn't exclude it as a power fantasy. I'd say the same applies to female power fantasies. Everyone has different fetishes, I don't think that should disqualify characters.

Also that female-perspective sexual fantasy in the OP has to be a joke. It might help figure out what girls like if you ask them instead of asking people on the internet who pretend to be girls. I can't believe the author saw those results and thought it was even remotely accurate.

Ultimate female power fantasy = Princess Celestia. She's pretty much the all-powerful ruler and goddess of Equestria.

I highly suspect that's why FFX-2 was so goddamn girly someone at Square realised what they had happened upon. While 10 wasn't my favourite FF game I really quite loved FFX-2 on it's own merits. It really was a 'game for girls'.

Yuna's character arc is very well done and realistic she goes from a girl who has pretty much accepted her death, and the fact that she can't have a normal life, to someone who finally get's to have some hope. I can identify with the loss of Tidus (Even though I can't stand the guy) because we all have people we can't live without. Yet she still continues to keep a stiff upper lip in the public eye because she knows the people need her as a symbol of hope. FFX-2 is about her living her life and getting what SHE wants.

Whoever wrote that character can have a packet of mini eggs on me.

This isn?t a set in stone thing, it varies between people.

First one that comes to mind definitely FemShep and Lady Hawke.

Ripley maybe. She is an awesome character, one of my favourites tho I?m not sure I would call her a power fantasy.

You can have a character that is both a male sexual fantasy and a female power fantasy.
I would class Lara Croft (minus the stupid advertising) as this. Being openly sexy dose not exclude a character from being a power fantasy. Infact the sexiness can be part of the power fantasy.
It?s when they start becoming more objectified, when the sex appeal is put ahead of everything else and seems to be the point of the character that it starts becoming a negative if power fantasy is what you are going for (tho this is not permission to make every character a damn sexual fantasy).
As all ready said by a previous poster the likes of Kratos is not every guys power fantasy. Dante is both a male power fantasy and female sexual fantasy.

BioWare is very good at providing equal power fantasy opportunities, and Lady Hawke of Dragon Age II fame is, in my opinion, their best realised female equivalent to date.

Yes. Like most people have said, FemShep and Lady Hawke are great examples. I'm also fond of Lara Croft, despite the overt sexual advertising. Kerrigan from Starcraft could be another example.

Outside video games, Starbuck from the (newer) Battlestar Galactica series was fabulous.

Well shit, what isn't deemed a male sexual fantasy these days?

If you would've said San I might have begrudgingly agreed, since she fits the angry badass girl stereotype that nerds go for a bit more. But Nausicaa, really? Far be it from me to say what men go for, but I always figured the general opinion of Nausicaa to be that a good hearted young girl who is a jack of many trades and is well loved by her community; All in all a good role model

Then what about Dola from Castle in the Sky; She's a pirate captain and she blows shit up real good. And going by her haggard appearance, I doubt any man would be into her. Plus, she's 50. So she's not just a power fantasy for girls, she's one for old people, too.

Toph, Katara and the warrior girl Sokka romances after the water princess dies (cant remember name) from Avatar, FemShep and FemHawke, alongside Lightning from FFXIII and Kerrigan from Starcraft?

This coming from a 20 year old white male, no less, but I do tend to play females more than males unless restricted to a male character in all honesty. Typically better VA's on the female side.

well the thing is, that most characters like She Hulk, who is an Strong Independent Woman, who likes Attention, are considered Male Sexual Fantasy instead of a Female Power fantasy, even though she fits the description of a Power Fantasy.

Im guessing most discriminating is inherently done by these people that want to categorize everything, in the efforts of having their viewpoints lauded.

Buffy.

I liked Buffy. My mum liked Buffy. Lots of women liked Buffy, both the show and the titular character.

I liked her because she could kick arse and hold her own in a fight or a conversation, but she wasn't perfect and had to learn and grow and rely on her friends and allies.

Also, she wore real clothes, and Sarah Michelle Gellar was attractive without looking absurd or unapproachable.

So yeah, female power fantasy - Buffy Summers. Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Once again I'll fall back to one of my favorite female characters of all time...

Also Ellen Ripley, and T2 Sarah Connor, who have already been mentioned. I'd say Cate Archer but she is just a bit too real, like Jade or April Ryan, to be a power fantasy.
