When i heard frome a friend that a Halo movie was to be made, i almost cried. That would be the equivalent of any movie directed by uwe boll. But when i heard that an extremely unconfirmed Metal Gear Solid movie was to be made, i had the same reaction.

Only this time it was out of joy.
Seeing as how i absolutley love Metal Gear Solid's story line, it made my year.
Then i found out there probably isn't going to be one, it made me very angry.

So what games do you gamers think would make the best movie adaption?

Warhammer 40k, (CGI or not it would be awesome, and yes it would have an actual story, just because it's a war movie doesn't mean it won't have character development, etc. etc. - it was pulled off in the games, so it could be done for the movies too - sorry but I keep hearing people say "character development be damned!" just because it's a damn war movie)

Also, I think a Halo movie would do pretty good, nothing spectacular but not the horrific flop that people think it would be.

Metal Gear....metal gear is a movie..an interactive movie.

Just buy MGS4, the 90 minute cut scenes should be plenty.

And with the 90 minute cut-scenes announced, i'm starting to feel like this game would be able to go on the big screen as is, and still be considered a great movie.

In think any game with a lot of emphasis on story (like Bioshock, MGS or FF) would work. But, it depends on the production. I mean, Bioshock can be done well, or become a flop... and then there's Uwe Boll...

I think the WoW movie (has that been announced yet) will be pretty epic. WoW if you look into has a great, if not crazily nerdy, storyline. Throw in some epic LOTR battles with green and blue spells flying across the screen and viola, Picture of the Year award.

that would suffer too much from being almost exactly like LOTR but with a slightly different story + more obvious magic

ooooh 5 adventurers going to a frozen throne now instead of a volcanoe

Assassin's Creed would be a pretty sweet movie if you skip all the sci-fi. (Works in the game tough)

There are already plans for a Bioshock movie, but most of you probably know this.

It's going to be directed by Gore Verbinski, so it shouldn't be too bad.

It might the frozen throne it might not plus there are other things to explore, like the fact that both factions (Horde and Alliance) have heroes and depth. Both sides are equally awesome. I like where this movie is headed personally. its already got $100 million dollar budget. Nothing we can do now except hope it doesn't turn into a Bloodrayne or something worse.

As long as Blizzard keeps Uwe as far away as humanly possible from the production, i would go pay 12 bucks to go see it.

Command and Conquer, any of the ones in the Tiberium series. I mean, as long as they dispense with the corny-as-corn dialogue.

Perfect Dark (Keep perfect dark zero out of this) Great story, great characters, great action. It'd be amazing.

Bioshock, but obviously there is already one coming.
I would say GTA, but the game is already very movie stylish, so it's not really nessessary.
I could see some great movie material coming out of the Starcraft universe. If it's anything like Starship Troopers it could be pretty good. (no not the straight to DVD ball of crap)

Technically, Kane & Lynch should've been a movie in the first place. Really liked that game's plot. Actually...I think someone already bought the movie rights.

If Peter Jackson stays with the Halo production Team, it Will be epic win.
Because he did such a wonderful job with King Kong *eyeroll*

Anyway, let's stop saying Final Fantasy, since as Advent Children showed us, condensing an FF style plot into a maximum of 180 minutes is near impossible to do well.

I'd love to see a movie based on the Shadow Hearts series, it'd be difficult but at least possible.

Better yet... Pixar doing a Ratchet & Clank movie... that'd be cool.
