Even though Rockstar said they aren't going to do one, GTA would make an awesome gangster drama if put into the right hands. It could be on par with scarface. Especially since they have gotten much better with story over the ages.
I watched this thing...ages ago on...Youtube, I think, of these marines picking up assault rilfes from Halo and running out to somewhere, and I think it was a sneak peek or something, but I think it was just a hoax or something. A Halo movie'd be interesting though.Uskis said:The halouniverse would make a great setting for a movie. They released a sequence before Halo 3 came out, in which some soldiers try to get the data on where master cheif lands. I thought "the way they directed it there, they actually made a very good action scene". If the would make a movie about the covenant wars, where you follow a squad, or a unit, or so in their struggle for survival, i'd be all over it. I doubt anyone's gonna do this though.. If there's gonna be a halo movie, it's gotta be with the chief... unfortunatly
Actually I'd heard that the chief will only have a brief appearance in the movie and it will mostly follow a squad like you said. Don't know how true this is though. I also think the BioShock movie should be pretty awesome but who knows how many of these movies will actually ever get made. Are they trying to making a Gears of War movie too? I remember hearing it somewhere.Uskis said:The halouniverse would make a great setting for a movie. If its the PC game your talking about, then I couldnt possibly disagree more than I am right now and convey how wrong that would be. One of the amazing things about that game was the ability to craft your own character and then make that story your own. What do you suppose happens when a movie cannot possibly achieve that, and sticks a shit protagonist and shit decisions in its place? Well, judging from the novelisation, an absolutely fucking travesty that doesnt even deserve to share the same name as the PC game, thats what. Games like Baldurs Gate just dont work outside of games, thats all there is to it.Omnidum said:Well, I could murmur something with Fable, but that's a movie-ish game with multiple choices.
Maybe Baldur's Gate?
Assassins Creed would work perhaps, but Mass Effect?Writerling said:Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed.
Period.

Old, a criminal movie about 2 partners in crime doing stuff is just so damn old, anything containing 2 partners and crime is already worn out, Thelma and Louise, Bonny and Clyde, Starsky and Hutch etc..L.B. True there's no one that could do the part then Hughx434343 said:Half-Life with Hugh Laurie as Gordon Freeman.
The best way to do a warhammer 40k movie would be something set in the Horus Heresy era. The emperor and the primarchs would make excellant main characters in a film.ElArabDeMagnifico said:Warhammer 40k, (CGI or not it would be awesome, and yes it would have an actual story, just because it's a war movie doesn't mean it won't have character development, etc. etc. - it was pulled off in the games, so it could be done for the movies too - sorry but I keep hearing people say "character development be damned!" just because it's a damn war movie)
Yes.Xaositect said:Is Hollywood seriously that far up its own arse?
