The only thing I can think of realistically is if say, one of those 'games made me kill' deals got way way out of hand, in effect creating a world-wide ban on all forms of videogaming, but, it's still pretty unlikely.

A chronic case of some random sickness eminating from the computer. Other than that, worldwide ban and graphic addicts.

Expense. Gaming has never been a particularly thrifty pastime, but the price of games and hardware is creeping upward, and there is going to be a point where it is just plain out of my budget.
I can name a lot more expensive pastimes like RC airplanes, Skiing, Golf, etc. The nice thing about video games is that once you do go out and buy everything you need and aren't going all out with a 50" widescreen and surround sound, you get more fun for the dollar compared to something like skiing. A 3-day lift pass at Vail costs $267 and that doesn't even include lodging and ski rentals. For the same amount of money you could go out and buy a Xbox 360 and GTA IV and have way more than 4 days of fun with that.

I don't play nearly as many games as I used to, because of declining quality, higher requirements that I'm not willing to pay to meet, and the simple fact that I now have much, much better things to be doing with my time. I only buy games that I've tried beforehand and become thoroughly convinced that I will enjoy, and things like poor hardware scaling and invasive DRM absolutely do stop me from buying games.

Anyway to answer the original question, EA being the only publisher on the entire earth would make me stop playing games forever.

Loss of the use of my arms. And even then after I get sick of trying to play with my feet.

The only thing that could make me quit video games forever is if Microsoft copes that stupid arbitrary Second Life Home bullshit that Sony is shoving in our faces. Than again they did copy Miis.

I would stop if I had the hottest girlfriend in the universe and she didn't like gaming. Sex with her could prevent me from gaming.

If DRM extended to every game, I know its not an original opinion but you couldn't get away with applying those policies to any other form of intellectuak property, such as books, People would sue you for fraud.

A sudden inexplicable increase in my partner's libido (to the point where she sets things on fire with the friction of her furious humping) would probably do the job. Of course, she has performed sexual acts on me while I was at the computer as a means of getting my attention in the past, and if I recall we both went back to gaming once we were knackered, so it's quite possible that even unlimited bountiful sex on tap would only delay me playing games by a month or two, until the novelty wore off.

Ummm, things that would definitely stop me playing, then. An airburst neutron bomb over Europe? Rising sea levels flooding London? A thousand angry monkeys hiding my computer and flinging razorblades covered in their own faeces? I'm pretty sure expense or DRM would never stop me playing games, because I own enough good ones that I could just start cycling them as I got bored.

For me it's going to be with blatant advertising in games. For some game it's acceptable (ie: billboards in racing games, the rink boards in hockey) but product placement within games is starting to become abominable (let's go Axe Bodywash and Burger King in Guitar Hero!), and when it turns into commercials within my game, that's where I draw the line. I hate advertisers and marketers as it is, believing that they are the lowest form of human lifeform, and having to pay for games and hae those thrust upon me...well, that will be the last straw.

I already do not watch TV, instead downloading my shows for watching later, I'm starting to despise going to movies, with commercials at the start of them (beyond trailers) and some movies becoming nothing more than glorified 2 hour long commercials in themselves (Transformers for example being one of the larger piles of GM dogshit I've wasted time seeing), I do not want to see video games becoming just another medium for corporate assholes to tell me what I should be buying.

I hate advertising...

A blackout might stop me. The zombie apocalypse would put a serious crimp in my gaming lifestyle, along with any other brand of apocalypse. Losing my hands might as well, though I could adapt, that would require effort and determination, two things that I game to avoid. Head trauma might stop it as well. Death, there's one. Let's just file them all under "Adverse impact to my general health/wellbeing".

That's all I got.
In the event of a apocalypes of any sort you could probably find me raiding game developers to see what could have been. (Find out how well Duke Nukeum Forever was coming along)

I'm pretty sure DNF's completion is one of the signs of the apocalypse.

And Lo! The Lamb broketh the 4th Seal, upon whence 1/3 of all the worlds gamers were wiped out in pure astonishment that 3D Realms actually released Duke Nukem Forever.

Blindness. And then I would put all my money into a fund for braille games, then I would continue, so it would only be a temporary stop.

Getting a job generally makes me quit gaming for a while. It sucks up time and my creativity.
I have stopped playing my DS recently because I realized nothing cool has come out since tetris.
