Well, if we're talking "real life", I'd pick a house cat. Seriously, you're petted, fed, basically cleaned up after, and you can pretty much sleep all day or run around chasing your owner or your tail, whatever catches your fancy.
If we're going "mythological/sci-fi/made-up/whatever", the choice becomes tougher. I'd either go with an asari (from Mass Effect; I love biotic powers), or maybe something really cool like a griffin (in the Dragon Age world) or a dragon (in the Forgotten Realms). Or maybe I'd just go with Moon Elf... *shrugs* There are loads to pick from.
