What would you call your child?

If I had a girl, I'd name her Evangeline/Eva or Mayu. This is after the song 'Evangeline' which is about an angelic girl who has a much darker side. Also Mayu is a sweet sounding japanese name which means something cool. Well they're along those lines anyway. But if I had a boy, I'd call him Mikhail, Jaegar or Steve. As you can probably tell, I would want my child to stand out with an awe inspiring name.
Over the years I have contemplated this a number of times actually. For the moment these are the likely choices...
Boy: Dawson, Marcus, Daniel, Blake
Gil: Amber, Jennifer, Cassandra, Rachel
Other possible names I like are...
Boy: Vincent, Lucas, Alex, Tom, Jason
Girl: Sadira, Kathryne, Elly, Amy, Monica. Caitlynn (friend of mine spells it this way), Jesscia, Samantha (Sammy), Alexendera, Melenie
and probably a few others I have forgotten. If you could not tell, I have put far more thought into girl names considered I'd rather have a daughter then a son. Of all those names my definative choices would be Dawson and Amber.

I've been partial to the name Amaris for some time now, however I'm sure my child would hate me for it.
sidenote: my spouse wanted to name his first child "Se7en" or "5ive" because he thinks he's funny.
