1. Paragon/Renegade- this system needs to die. Your own game (DA) showed us how primitive and anti-roleplay it was. Let us roleplay!
2. Thermal clips- Everyone has already said why.
3. More RPG elements
4. More character interaction- If Garrus tells me he is in the middle of some calibrations one more time....
5. The static load screen- The elevator ride at least had character dialogue and news reports to entertain us while we waited.
6. Mineral scanning

I'd bring back some of the complexity from ME1. Not ALL of it (a lot of that junk was pretty pointless) but some of it.

Also, I'd think of a new moral choice system, if we even still need one. One that doesn't punish you for not being all-the-way good or evil.

Less orbital mining please.
That was pure tedium.
There were zero risk, skill, tactics, or any sort of mental activity involved other than clicking on the spots that buzzed the most.
And please give us some form of inventory.
Sure, I can appreciate not having to trudge through vendor trash and have a full inventory all the time, but removing it altogether is overkill.

Also, let us earn loot rather than giving us an allowance.

I really want the Mako back, but I want it to handle better and I want to drive around planets that actually have life on them to make it more interesting. Some hostile life.
I thought the Hammerhead was a good alternative - being a hovercraft it automatically handles better, and it was pretty fun to drive. If they had more expansive exploration with the Hammerhead it would fill the gap nicely, I think. It could do with being a little tougher, though - the current Hammerhead is pretty delicate.

Let me toggle helmets on and off like I could in the first game. I hated having to choose between armor bonuses and being able to see Shepard's face when he speaks. I always chose the latter.
Absolutely - something that needs to be fixed in Dragon Age, too. I understand the logic of helmets being visible, but it increases immersion when you can see your avatar's face.

No more planet scanning. It sucks, it's boring, it added nothing to the game.
Pretty much.

i see a lot of people didn't like the moral system, idk, i love it, more so the me1 system, i don't feel you should be restricted if you have to little of what ever but i feel there need to be a good and bad, and i would like to see more in game consequences to it, but i still want ti, you keep saying it destroys RPG elements, but how? i played the game and never broke from how i wanted to play the game, and i only ever had a few moment where i said "wow that should have gone differently" but then i think there should be a few choices that DON'T have a moral consequence, like say that geth heretic thing, maybe it should have been neutral no mater what you pick?

and other than dragon age bioware has done a lot with moral systems and i think they can make a really good one for ME# and thats what i want to see.

no ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL lines or anything that gets repeated. characters that get shot should only say some quirky dialog bit once in a while. Also don't make the morality choice obvious, placing the bad ass line in the same place loses meaning after a while. You just wait for it to pop up, to use it again and again.

PS: if sitting in the office listening for vibrations and hitting left click is fun to you, to each his own.

I only recently got both games. I'm only 30 hours into 1. My friends have told me what some of the changes are in 2, and more and more even though I haven't played 2 yet, I'm thinking that they should just bring back most of what 1 is like.

First: less "you need 200 renegade points to unlock this action", it's silly, and as yathzee pointed out (and by god, first time I'm quoting him for truth and not to complain about his views): they make moral choices focus on + good or evil points rather than the consequences of them.

Second: better ammo system. Thermal clips would have been fine if they had scaled properly. Like "contains 50 clip points, snipers use 10 per shot, smg 1, pistol 3, etc etc", instead of that awful "contains exactly 1 sniper, 6 pistol, 30 smg or whatever the numbers were...".

Third: More insight into salarians and turians, they're interesting!

Fourth: More customisation on my character than in ME2, but less than in ME1. The skill system of the first game might have been a bit tedious, and had quite a few balance issues, but the system in ME2 was SHIT! I want Shephard to be the way I want him to be, not like they want him. A cross between the two games would be best.

fifth: no more ammo powers, they're silly... really silly. I just get the feeling shephard screams: FLAME ON, and the bullets are ablaze.
I liked having a sniper with armor piercing, smg with shredding, etc etc.
On 1st: I'm somewhat fine with the system. It is basically the system that BioWare had for KotoR, except in KotoR it didn't show you the answers to questions that you were missing out on, when you got the right lightside/darkside points, those parts would start appearing to use. The only thing I have a problem with ME's system, is that it doesn't give out enough Moral points. In KotoR you could earn lightside or darkside points with I believe every conversation(unless you had already had the conversation and earned the points). In ME1 I find myself using all paragon choices but only earning paragon maybe half the time.

As much as I have seen people harp on the whole choice-wheel that gives a clear choice of what is right an wrong, I want it to stay. And frankly, when I heard that they were bringing it into Dragon Age 2, I jumped for joy because one of the reasons I am taking forever to go through Dragon Age is because of the list of so many choices and questions and sitting there for five minutes on just about everyone to decide whether it is a good choice or an evil choice. The wheel is the whole reason I've been able to relatively breeze through ME1 because I can listen to the conversation and make a quick choice an get on with the action. The system they had for Dragon Age broke immersion for me. Yes it is like KotoR, but with KotoR, you could tell that all the lightside choices were at the top and the darkside choices were at the bottom.

On the 2nd: Just bring back ME1's ammo system. I heard from my friends that in 2 you have limited amount of ammo and you have to go buy more. That is utter crap. I want them to just make it like 1 again and just make it to where you only have to decide what power type of ammo you want.

On the 3rd: Agreed.

On the 4th: For me, I couldn't care less, since when I started ME1, I was like screw this default Shepard, let's get on with this.

On the 5th: What do you mean buy ammo powers? Do you mean like Incendiary rounds, Cryo rounds, Chemical rounds, and Tungsten rounds?

If you mean that, than I say keep them. It is anything but silly. It is the future, do you think that we won't advance to where we are using something more than just metal bullets.

That is the one reason I found Halo to be bizarre. I mean after more than 500 years, we have to be using something more that just regular bullets as usual.

Why not having the good and bad choices marked we leave it to the players opinion? Other than that, planet scanning can burn in hell.
For the love of God, NO. I rather have a 80+ hour game(considering that I've been told that I am only about one-third of the way into the game at 30 hours of play time) and make easy quick decisions that allow me to pay attention to the story better, than a 200+ hour game because the extra time came from having to take 3 to 4 times the normal amount of time to choose what was right to say and what is bad to say.

I applaud BioWare for their implementation of the dialog wheel, and incredibly happy that they have made the choice to bring it into Dragon Age 2.

No more ammo, back to the heat control.

Customizable armor for squadmates.
Original leveling system.
Hear hear! Bring back the weapons and armor system from ME1!

Edit: With the edition of said customizable armor, where you can chose the color and such.

I want the engineer to have a unique combat element... I want him/her to wear a custom designed exo-skeleton made out of salvaged armour parts.
I like that idea, but let's see it for EVERY class, not just the Engineer. Imagine the Infiltrator walking around with some extra camouflage or at least something with more of a "Spec. Ops" feel to it, or even the Adept with Mass Effect energy coursing through tubes under the surface of his armor, making it glow blue whenever he uses a power.

Paragon/Renegade.

I think I've discussed that with somebody in the Halo fans group, but my opinion still stands that this morality system shit has to go.
I agree. It instantly sets something up as a good or bad choice, like the decision to rewrite or destroy the heretic Geth. Some choices are subjective.
A lot of choices are more grey than they are evil or just, but I enjoy having the system.

Really, the only aspect of the morality system I would alter would have to be how it influences the things you can or cannot say in dialog.

I'd prefer having Intimidate/Charm as a skill again.

The only other thing I can think of is making the Dialogue sound less like Commander Shepherd pulled out a clipboard and started going through things on a list. Making them flow better would greatly make things better.

Calumon: Making it so I can play it. Jack keeps saying it's good but I'm not old enough! : (
I prefer the voice actor for the female Shepard myself, but I refuse to play as her because my male Shepard is just too damn sweet lookin'.

#Lastly, different armour fits for all characters, rather than the outfits they have now. The lack of space suits for several of the characters is somewhat... irritating as well. Like at the beginning when you carry joker through hard vacuum to reach the escape pod. He should be suffering a number of things, like the bends, radiation burns and intense pain not yelling COMMANDER!!! Ditto when you board the collecter cruiser and at the end when you run around on it's surface, most of your crew wearing nothing but a little rebreather in space. Annoying.
That was a tad bit confusing.

However, my only complaints are the planet scanning and the infamous "BioWare face." It's less noticable than Mass 1 and KOTOR, but some characters *coughcoughJACOBcoughcough* show it more often than others.

If you have to keep the thermal clips (the trailer seems to show they are still in. Grrrrr...) at least make them universal like you claim. It pissed me off when I realized you could run out of sniper ammo but my shotgun and pistol are just sitting there being useless. Seriously, the default shotguns are useless unless you are close enough to make out with the enemy.

Also if the sentinel doesn't get the super kick ass omni-tool shield of awesomeness from Lair of the Shadow Broker I will cry.

To me, the Rachni looked to be alien lobsters.

--------------

I see people talking about the whole minerals thing. Having only experienced ME1 version of it, I personally would like it if they made it all as simple as scanning from orbit was in ME1: Push button, receive minerals.

I really don't like the having to rove around whole given surface in the Mako, wondering if I didn't comb the right areas of the planet to see where the mineral was hiding.

I heard what ME2 is like with this, it sounds somewhat better, but I rather just do like the one half of ME1: Push button, receive bacon...I mean minerals.

Make better, logical interfaces. I couldn't have been the only one that was at his wit's end at the start of ME1 and ME2.

Make the dialogue not sound like a flash-interview, with multiple choices, and for the love of God If I pick "I'm not working with Cerberus" don't make Shephard say "I'm only working for cerberus for now".

Flesh out the story more instead of the streamlined a quest per companion and multiple one-dimensional sidequests plus main storyline of ME2.

Give back depth to my bloody companions, 65% of the dialogue was someone commenting on the skyline or just calibrating my weapons.

And don't try the uncanny valley hugging scenes in Shephard's cabin again, what was even the point to stare at Miranda hugging Sheppard for ages?

-Keep reloading feature, I don't mind thermal clips
-Keep the shooting elements but RPG it a bit more, making certain weapon classes, you have to improve upon.
-Don't make the soldier the only class that can use all the weapons
-Allow us to See children or other alien genders (For atmosphere, not for sexual things)

We have a Geth on our team in ME2, and that would have been like asking for a Darkspawn in DA:O. Don't give up hope.
