In Sins of a Solar Empire I based my naming of capital ships off Starship Troopers (the book) and named battleships after soldiers/leaders (eg Roger Young, Horatio, Julius Caesar), my support ships I named after battles (Eg, Ypres, Agincourt, El Alamein) and just as a personal taste thing I named my planet killers biblically (Samson, Goliath, Golgotha).

The U.S.S. Nazareth

It just has a nice 'doombringer' kind of ring to it.

Barring that, the U.S.S. Fist of Mars, 'cause Mars is awesome.

I chose a theme for naming my ships. I used nautical terms for a while, but I later remembered the perfect name for a science ship - The U.S.S. Antikythera.

It's the PERFECT name for a science ship by its very nature!

-You just blew my fuckin' mind, man. I was going to put down a retarded/goofy name, but this is WAY too badass to ignore. I'd serve on that ship!

The Final Fantasy. I just love the sound of it.

But if Square Enix decided to sue me for that, I'd name it the Leviathan. And it will not bear the USS prefix, no ship of mine will be associated with any county other than Australia.

USS Prometheus

For those of you who don't know Prometheus is from Greek mythology. He gave fire to the mortals. He was later punished by Zeus for it.

I wouldn't be looking for anything bigger than the Millenium Falcon, as I'd want speed over firepower, not interested in fighting in any wars thanks, I see trouble coming I'm motoring the other way.

Probably call it the Cascade Wind.

My primary Flagship name is/was 13th Floor Elevator but that is too long for most games.
My secondary Flagship name is/was Combat Wombat. Here is the latest incarnation of the Combat Wombat:

I know I've already posted a name but I just remembered an even better one. The S.S. More Powerful Than Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and the Incredible Hulk Put Together.

Ten points goes to the person who names what this is from first!

The USS Infiniton, for it would (be infinetly awesome) draw power from holes in this universe. In other words, harvesting infinity.
