Whilst I don't play STO, I do play EVE Online, and I've named my ship as such:
H.A.S Gom Jabbar - Stabber Class cruiser. From the incredibly poisonous needle in Dune.
H.A.S Wintermute - Cyclone Class battlecruiser. From a character in Neuromancer.
H.A.S Shai-Hulud - Tempest Class battleship. From the Fremen name of Sandworms in Dune.
H.A.S Solaris - Cheetah Class Covert Ops scout ship. Latin for "Of the sun".
H.A.S Nostromo - Mammoth Class Industrial ship. From the ship in Alien.
H.A.S Hathor - Retriever Class Mining barge. From the Egyptian Goddess of the sky, love and music, had a temple constructed near a mine.
H.A.S is for House Aratus Ship, House Aratus being the corp I'm currently part of.

I would name my ship:
Saint Medical Convoy of Peace and Saving Orphaned Children
Not that that will be my duty. I'll still be a Level 10 Warship that is adventuring and blowing things up like the best of us, but when some space weapon locks onto my ship from 10'000km away they will think twice before atomising me when they see my name is like that.
Remember when in space always ask: "What would Bender do?"

Really I'll be quite surprised if anyone gets it, mainly because I'm posting to the fourth page of a thread where everyone just makes a post while looking at the second page and never looks again. So I might as well greet the Void while it stares at me. Hang on, I know if you stare into the Void the Void stares back, but does that necessarily mean that when the Void stares at you, you stare back? More research is necessary.
