Actually, no. All freedoms stop where they intersect with others well being. You are not allowed to scream fire in a crowded subway station. You can be held legally liable if you push someone towards suicide. Why should you be allowed to willfully harm the mental well being of others if we can not legally harm the physical being of others?Captain Wes said:

The key word is intent: its a key fixture in American Law. I assume its the same elsewhere.

I think that the WBC is an absolutely idiotic group. I think that their message is absolutely horrible, and that they cause a lot of harm. I am a huge LGBT advocate, and I have personally seen the trauma that homophobia can cause.
But I would not shut down their group.
It's the same reason why the KKK is still allowed to make protests, because freedom of speech should apply in every situation. If we start filtering what people can and can't say, what's to stop it from snowballing? I don't agree with what they're saying, but will defend their right to say it.
However, I would stop them from causing any kind of mental or physical harm to anyone, and have them be properly educated on the importance of sexual tolerance.

Nothing. As despicable as they are, the end result is that all they do is discredit homophobes everywhere, and raise sympathy for the cause of gay rights. Why would I want to get rid of the perfect straw man? There's enough counter-protesters out there that there is really no harm they can do.
i would probably have key members of their church (cult) eliminated, making it look like an accident if i have to.

but i couldnt be as harsh as i would prefer :/ i would at the very least make it illegal to protest funerals. it absolutely should be, anyway... especially considering they are protesting random soldiers funerals to spread their hate message. those soldiers are NOT public figures, and their deaths are completely unrelated to what the WBC is protesting.
its like standing across the street from someones house and shouting out all the things you hate. that wouldnt end up being acceptable, so why is protesting funerals acceptable?

I would personally scrutinize their financial records. Have every single one of their protests monitored and recorded. Dig up any possible criminal or law-breaking activity. Then slam them with criminal/civil charges until they're completely out of money.
This is the key behind their activities. They're a professional trolling organization. They get paid when people interfere with their protests. The only way to do away with people like this is to remove the motivation for it, make them incapable of getting paid for their dirty little job.
