This game has been in dev for 4 years if it sucks I'll lose hope in the game industry.
What about Duke Nukem Forever?
The fact that this game has been in dev for over 10 years, gives me no hope for it being worth it. Brink, on the other hand has had information constantly spilled about it. It has been delayed 2 times, Duke nukem died and then came back as if it's still relevant in gaming culture.

Why exactly did you pick Brink?

I plan on getting it. I don't think it will suck. I like giving these new FPS IPs a chance. I gave Homefront a chance and just returned it today. I think Brink will be better. All the customization and videos on it make it look really good.

It might drive me to the 'brink' of suicide! Hardy-har-har!

If someone's already done that one, my apologies, you're sadder than I am.

If its bad, I will be consoling my friend. I dont plan on getting it, since I know nothing about it, but my friend really wants it and I talk to him all the time, so Ill be the first he complains about it to.

I doubt it'll be bad but I most probably won't buy the game any time soon anyway, unfortunately, since I already spent far too much money on games this year (damn you, Portal 2 and DA2).

I like the idea of FPS + parkour, if they can make that work then i'll definately buy it, the customisation is just an added bonus.

Actually i like any game with parkour in it, that's why i like Mirror's Edge so much

Even if it sucks i'll have LA Noire to play anyway so it won't be soul crushingly bad...

The trick is to take all the hype you have over a game, and cut it by 50% it stops me ffrom being majorly disappointed

I haven't heard about it, nor do I follow what games are being released unless I'm following the series, so my response to Brink not being good would be utter indifference.

I can't recall a single instance where buying a game early on has been a good experience for me, so I wait for games to be released, patched, let's played, reviewed to death etc. before I'll bother considering whether or not I'll buy it. Usually the purchase will also depend on a price drop of temporary or permanent character, seeing how I have been routinely screwed over by game developers in the past. :3

To be honest, and I'm not trying to flame, but I already think it's going to. If they really built the game around it's free-running mechanic I think it might be better. But, all the previews I've seen say it's a mostly-tacked-on mechanic that does little to improve the game...which makes me a sad panda.

I think it'll be along the same quality as Bulletstorm; fun in short bursts but overall a pretty tired game (aside from better graphics and nostalgia for earlier games a la Duke Nukem).

I am not buying it unless it turns out to be some form of amazing game that is actually a must have by consumers and critics, so if it sucks, no problem with me.
