I would go down in history as the man who killed Jesus, sicilian style.

You know.. Jesus was real. You don't have to believe that he was the son of God, but there is proof that he existed as a real person. You might want to change the title of this Thread- but if he came back then in my Christian belief: It's going to be the era of Revelations.

Now, if he came back just to be around instead.. you bet he'd prove he was Jesus through miracles and he'd have over millions of followers, plus more seeing the miracles for themselves.
What you mean to say is that around 2000 years ago a guy named Jesus existed. He may or may not have done or said anything that was said about him but there was this guy and he was named Jesus. That is not exactly hard to prove since it was not an uncommon name at the time.
Not exactly, there are historical text that talk about a Jesus who was a leader of a sect or cult, whatever they reffered to it as in their writngs. Its been a while since I've seen them, but there are historical text that talk about a completely human Jesus who was also a religious figure.

Meh...the answer is "repent".

Since no matter what, thats all you need to do to get square with god. Christianity is so easy to exploit.

Kill millions of people, torture babies, rape goats...just repent, and off to heaven you go!
That depends on your definition of repenting. Saying your sorry 'cuz you got caught is not true repentence. Hitler could say he's sorry 'till he's blue in the face and he's still not going to get into heaven if he's still a racist bastard. I think there was a parable about this, but I can't remember how it goes, I haven't been to church in a loooong time.

TL;DR, if you've been an asshole all your life, apologizing when Jesus shows up for the sole purpose of avoiding punishment isn't going to save you.

I'm watching the episode of Family Guy where Peter discovers Jesus and it got me wondering- what would that actually be like?
well one, Jesus was actually a real person historically. No argument, Whether one thinks he'd the messiah is a different story (i believe so)

two, i would be taken off left behind style if he came during my life time (i doubt he would, nothing is honestly matching up to what was predicted)

three, you watch family guy? .....well ok if you want....not the best show for understanding religion...or anything with out a screwed up perspective thats pretty much elitist.

four, i'd ask him to tell the WBC to STFU. and to tell everybody to stop taking his teachings and the bible out of context and makeing shit up that makes us normal christians (vast majority of us) look bad.

five, i'd laugh at the atheist for giving me shit but also take the time to help save my buddies who are atheist so we can party hard in heaven with johnny cash, Freddie Mercury, Ronnie James Dio, Elvis, and all the other cool dudes.

six, ???

seven, Profit

Nope, not really.

As far as I remember from Religion the Jews do have a Second coming but it is not of Christ it is basically of their next David and is supposed to happen near the end of time. Well they have something to this effect anyway.
No. The "second coming" is an entirely Christian concept that has no basis in the Hebrew Bible, likely made up by disappointed Christians to account for the fact that their central figure didn't fulfill the messianic prophecies.

.. *Sigh* This is why we shouldn't have Threads like these. Reading the posts.. and I see things like:

- I would kill Jesus
- He never existed
- Jesus coming back would ruin the World
- (Jesus jokes, not friendly ones ether)

Because it's a religious topic, people aren't going to be happy with this period. I mean, everyone has a right of opinions and saying but.. some posts disturb me. I'm Christian, yet I don't go to other Threads and flat out tell people's idols that I wish to kill him/her, or that he/she is a disgrace (Like if someone felt compassion for Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr.) Some people don't even believe in the Holocaust and you ALL know that happened, so why tell us Jesus didn't happen ether..?
Wow. It takes some real balls to compare doubts regarding Jesus - a man who has nothing supporting his existence - to holocaust denial.

If it was the -real- Jesus, as in he was half-deity or whatever there could be only course of action. He would have to die. It would be the only way to prevent the end of the world. So I'd shoot him dead.
there are sooooo many ways that wouldn't work....ever....

What do you mean by "IF" Jesus turned out to be real Jesus "IS" real and "IS" coming back. It is accepted by the overwhelmingly majority of scholars that Jesus was an actual historical figure. After all Chuck Norris has volunteered to remain on earth after the Rapture so he can fight the Anti-Christ
I suggest you put your flame-shield up, because many people, myself included, Highly doubt that.

I would... be scared and confused. And ask him why his father is not a very nice man...
Okay I understand if people disagree with the whole Jesus is actually coming back thing but I strongly stand by my statement that Jesus was a real historical figure who actually existed. And the historical existence of Jesus IS a wildly accepted fact and there an increasing amount of books written about the historical Jesus. Now one seems to question whether or not other even more ancient religious founders such as Buddha or Confucius were real historical figures. So why is it that people feel the need to suggest Jesus is not real. Can you imagine the replies if someone posted up "What would you do if Muhammad turned out to be real?" Even the hard line atheist Richard Dawkins said that he thought Jesus was an actual person although admittedly he said he "probably" did exist but he didn't deny that he was a real person. In my opinion it less about historical accuracy and more about people who dislike or resent Christianity trying to undermine its beliefs.
And as you've probably guessed it YES I am Christian and to answer the topic question when Jesus does come back Id ask him what took so so bloody long!!

I'd apologize for not believing in him and ask if we're cool.

If we are, then he's probably way better than the picture painted of him by religion over the past 2000 years.

If we're not....then I probably wouldn't want to hang out with him for all eternity anyway.

I'd be excited personally. Even though I'm an atheist, I would be curious about how he achieved immortality (and beat/torture the secret out of him) and I'd also be excited to finally bring him to justice for all the crimes against humanity that have been committed in his name. Seriously, he makes Hitler look like a decent guy, albeit one with a stupid mustache.

Well after making sure he actually WAS Jesus and not just another crack pot, I'd ask him "Would you please, please, PLEASE, tell me what this thing ACTUALLY means?" before throwing a Bible at him.

I know a guy - he was born on Christmas day, he looks pretty much like Jesus does in most representations... and he's Jewish. Real nice guy. Kind, giving, thoughtful... loyal.

I've long suspected that he's actually Jesus, and just doesn't know it yet.

He's on his third marriage. Poor bastard.

I still regret not throwing him a pity fuck back when his first wife left him. She left with my girlfriend at the time, so it wasn't like it there wouldn't have been a healthy dose of irony there.

I'd say: "Hey Jesus- I'm a big admirer of your work. You know you've got one of the worst fan bases anywhere, right?"

To which he'd probably respond:
"I know- they even made me a white guy for some reason."
