What would you do if you won the lottery?

Depends on how much you win really, if it's the big Euro Millions style lottery win of £25million + then i'd probably splash out a bit, buy myself a nice home and car, then put the rest away and live off the interest.
If it was a £100,000 + win like the sort you'd get off a scrathcard it'd probably go on taking a chunk out of a mortgage and spending a small percentage on cheap crap i've wanted for a while.

If I won one of the million plus dollar lotteries, I'd offer to give my mom and my sister and brother-in-law fifty thousand dollars. After that I'd buy my own car (brand new, current year, all options) and maybe a modest-sized house (no mansions for me). Then I'd buy a kick-ass home theater system and a PS3 (to go with my 360) and every single game from those systems that I want.
Whatever is left over I'll split between a couple savings accounts (at different banks) and a checking account.

Buy a private island, build whatever I want over there (including my own playboy mansion), family and friends came come freely any time, I would give some money to some people I know that are in serious moneytrouble, and apart from that, I would do whatever the hell I want.
and then after you blow all your money on this private island, you'll pay for the upkeep, fuel for gennies(cuz how else will you get power?) with what, magic beans? This is the lottery we're talking about, a private island alone will cost you the more than a few hundred million, then you gotta pay to transport all the building supplies there, that's several more million, the actual building costs and terraforming of the island for a mansion would run close to a hundred million, and with the salt air you'd have to be constantly repainting and sealing everything....Mr S said:
As for myself; I'd fund some local businesses, put a nice chunk into a high yield interest bank account(I believe at one million in a 3.3% high yield account you'd make more than thirty thousand a year) and continue to live my life without any massive upscaling of my normal everyday upkeep to satify how I live. Pay student loans, Donate to charity, put rest in bank, then go on about my life as if it never happened. Practical, but boring.
I would smash every window in the store that sold me the lottery ticket, then throw money in their face and yell "I can pay suckers!!!"
Tithe, pay off my parents' mortgage. Buy myself a house in-full, buy a car in-full, and spend as much money as humanly possible on the most bad-ass desktop PC ever. And spend the rest of my life only paying for utilities and never have to work again. But I wouldn't know what to do myself, so I'd get a job anyways.

First I'd donate half of it to something or other... cancer or redcross or some mix of that. Got this "my name is earl" karma thing in my head so I'm sure I'd get like insta death if I actually won.
Then I'd probably pay off all the things that need paying off. Send my parents on a really nice vacation.
