As minor a detail as it may be, some color in an FPS would be nice from time to time. One of the things I loved about Mirror's Edge was the use of vibrant color throughout the game. It made the game appealing to look at, eye-catching, and made it easy to focus on my surroundings. So it's frustrating to see almost every single FPS these days fall back on the ol' "realistic" palette that consists solely of shades of brown, gray, and green. We understand that developers want their shooters to look more realistic, but some splashes of different colors here and there might make their games less ugly. If they need some inspiration, they should look at Mirror's Edge again, or at Jet Set Radio (so what if it isn't an FPS, it has incredibly appealing graphics with a wide variety of color).
