I still read alot even with video games so i'd guess i'd read alot more maybe even have time to write a book of my own.

Or just watch Cartoons and Anime all day since not even video games vanishing could make me want to socialise with other humans.

Go on a psychotic rage, destroying cities and gnawing at the foundations of the earth.

They would call me the scourge of man.

Without video games, I would probably play more warhammer 40,000 (probably about as expensive as video gaming in the long run but much more time consuming when you take making and painting the models plus playing the game into account), read more books and watch more movies.

I would say spend more time with my two year old, but that doesn't really apply as all my video gaming is either done at friends houses or at home when she is asleep.

EDIT: I might even be forced to leave the house occasionally. The horror!!

Probably read more, watch every episode of Breaking Bad in a day, not be as bothered about going to work. To be honest I've noticed I've been gaming a lot less recently, maybe about an hour a day so I doubt it'd be much different.
I'd say I would go out more but that's a lie as I try and meet up with my non-gaming friends as much as possible.

I'd be able to catch up on some studying and some books I want to read.
I would even run/workout more in general.

This is part of a larger musing on our need for entertainment, but for now I'll just focus on this question: If video games suddenly vanished from existence and the means to make them could not be recovered, (and yes, I realize this essentially takes computers out of the loop, too) what would you do for entertainment in life?

Think about animals. They seem to get along fine without all this stuff we sometimes claim is essential to living and/or being happy.
Animals cannot be compared to humans in this manner.

OT: I would read. I love reading. Probably more than I like video games. Or I might play dnd. I def like dnd more than video games.

I'd be a lot more bored, and I might watch more movies and read more books than I would have. Maybe in a world without video-games there would be more PNP RPG players around, so I could play that too.

Haven't played video games for a while now. I think I'd be alright, though I would rather like to still have a computer.

Ah well, I'd read, actually try to learn the guitar etc.

I would probably spend a lot more time doing constructive stuff. Maybe i would finally finish one of my thousand unfinishied videoga- nevermind, i'd just read, play PNP RPGS, and waste an ungodly amount of time on the internet

Try to get back into reading and watching movies/anime as much as I used to, but probably fail miserably and blow my head off out of sheer boredom.

Animals are also concerned with precious little more than survival and propagation of the species. While the former is a necessity and the latter is fun, I would hardly call it living in any but the loosest sense.

Without games, I would:

-read
-write
-perform music
-listen to music
-probably learn a skill (Since my general technical expertise would be largely wiped out sans computers)
-Play tabletop RPGs more. In fact, it might give me a reason to come up with some modules for the first time in like a decade.

Basically, I'd do everything I'm already doing, but a little more of it, because one element would no longer have a slice of the pie. For entertainment, I like creative ventures.

Exercise much more, study more books on combat, and go to the range more. Of course I'm already planning on doing this, at least cutting back some on the gaming.
