Ok here's the story, my friend, we'll call her "Sue". well this past weekend, Sue went to a party, now from what she tells me, she had no alcohol the whole night. all she had was a can of soda. now, she made the one mistake you should never make at a party. she sat her drink down. into which someone slipped something in it. sue wakes up the next day with no recollection of what transpired the previous night. a couple weeks go by and she doesnt get her period. so she takes a pregnancy test. shes pregnant.

i know that this is going to spark some ire from the community, but i think she should get an abortion. she doesnt want to. she's employed, but she already has a 2 yr old. i dont think she gets the fact that shes carrying her rapist's baby. with that being said, am i wrong for wanting her to get an abortion? What would you do in this situation?

I don't think she should. It's a hard situation, no doubt, and not a choice to be made lightly, but I would say she should keep it.

Few questions, though: How does she know it was from the party? She already has a 2 yr old, so she's not adverse to sex. I'm not calling her a slut or anything, but things happen. Had she has sex around the same time? Condoms break and accidents happen is all I'm saying.

she knows its from the party, cause shes abstained from sex until shes married.

Has she considered asking anybody else at the party who she left with/what happened? Only 2 weeks ago I'd say that's an important thing to find out.

Then how does she have a two year old? You seem to be contradicting yourself

Well ask yourself what the world would have been like if Jesus was aborted? (its always sunny in philadelphia anyone?)

but in all seriousness aside, I would not want anyone to live with something that reminded them they got raped, not to mention the kid will probably be fucked up if he ever found out he was a rapist baby. I say pres that big red button, and move on with your life, and stop going to skeezy parties if you have a 2 yo kid.

Does she want another child? If not then she should have an abortion. Prior to that though she should go straight to the police, what with rape being one of the most fucked up crimes someone can commit.

Whilst not agreeing with the rest of Baby Teas opinion this does need to be considered, it could make a difference to her own feelings on the child and her own mental well being.

she made that promise to herself AFTER she had her two year old

Christ, mom has warned me about setting my drink down at parties, but I'm not a woman, so I wouldn't have to deal with something like this.
I would recommend abortion, personally, explaining to a kid how you got them when they are a rape child would be difficult.

How do we know she kept it?

Look, I'm not trying to paint this girl as some bad, evil person who sleeps around. Please, don't get me wrong. You obviously know this girl better then any of us, but the whole thing seems a little odd (But I'll certainly admit, not impossible).

At any rate, I stand by my 'keep it' remark. I don't think the child should be killed for the crimes of the father (Not that I'd consider that guy a 'father'...but I'll leave that debate for another thread).

Not to be the unsensitive guy but this sounds like some after school special propaganda. Is this for real? Or something you heard from a friend of a friend of a friend. It's written like that story with the homeless guy and the jacket who turns out to be jesus, or some myspace mass bulletin. ORR "sue" is lying to you. She goes to a party even tho she has a 2 yr old at home. Okay i can buy that, every parent needs some time out. Only has Soda. okay... so shes not wasted somewhere just sitting on a couch..passes out in front of a room of people for no apparent reason whatsoever and is carried off somewhere and inpregnated. seriously.

I had a friend who was slipped a ruffie and he was so comatose and unresponsive that guess what..people came to his aid and he woke up in a hospital a few hours later. None of what your saying makes sense. You don't just go to a party.. be completley innocent...and wake up pregnant.

I wouldn't say that if I were you. My mom's boss who was a 50-60 year old man went to a bar and got slipped something. He goes to the bathroom feeling a little ill and passes out. When he wakes up he find himself bent over a toilet being rape. The sad part is he became a laughing stock in town. So guys can be rape too. With "Sue" she swears to abstained from sex until shes married after having a baby she may not be mentaly stable.

Get the baby adopted? Don't think a childs potential life should be cut short because of the crime of the father, as hard as that could be for the mother.

I meant that I can't get pregnant, not that I can't get raped...

Thats a sucky situation, if shes not ready it would be hard to raise a child let alone from a alleged rape. Its a very personal decision and she should go with her gut instinct and know that its the right decision
