GTA5 seemed like the perfect game, Rockstar added everything great from previous GTA games like car customizations (my favorite). What do you think would make Grand Theft Auto 6 better than Grand Theft Auto 5, by adding what?

Honestly, enough with the "adding". I've had enough of these games-made-of-games.
Wouldn't mind to see the jetpack return for good though.

I know I really like GTA Online. Playing my own custom character. I'd enjoy a customizable character system with voice, like Saints Row, Mass Effect. With some sort of interaction/transition between your singleplayer character and online.

The garage, mechanic and insurance system of online is pretty good too.

Failing that perhaps a female protagonist. GTA 5 had 3 characters (as did GTA4 eventually) not one of them female. Imagine if you subbed out Franklin with Talia Martinez the tough as nails getaway driver for heists. That'd be sweet. You'd have the added story line benefit of Michael's wife thinking she's his lover and perhaps an inversion when Trevor is the only one who doesn't act like a sleaze to her. They shouldn't miss an opportunity like that in another game.

I know it sounds like blasphemy but perhaps a restricted amount of weapons you can carry, with the rest in the boot of the car. Say pistols and knives automatically concealed, perhaps with some smgs and sawn-offs, with larger weapons slung or carried. So you can't just walk down the street with an assault rifle and pistols actually have purpose. So in a fight you have to go to the boot of the car much like LA Noire. It would allow tense storyline moments where you're caught with your guard down and make those times you prepare by bringing a sniper rifle or rpg all the sweeter.

This could of course be turned off for freeroam rampages and online lobbies.

I'm sort of with Johnny Novgood, in that I'd like to see less with the "NEW FEACHERS!" and more working on refining things. However, he's a list of things they could "add" to the game:

-Competent controls: I cannot tell you how many hours I've spent on GTA V. Aiside from beating the game twice, 100%ing it once, and playing it on a third platform, I've spent hundreds of hours in GTA Online, but I don't know if I could spent this much time without the auto-aim on. I keep thinking maybe ti's because I just suck at games these days, but I started playing the Black Ops 3 beta, and after a while where I sucked ( literally hadn't played an FPS for any serious time in two years) I'm doing decent all of a sudden. I went back to Saints Row 3 to record gameplay footage for a video, and both my mouse and controller sensitivity felt all over the place after two years of sluggish GTA controls. The irony? I always thought SR was a slightly sluggish series.

-More map use: okay, biggest map ever in a game. Awesome, right? Well, sorta. There are a lot of locations that are never really used by the main story or by missions. Unless races are your thing, you will spend hours of time driving past tons of scenery that's only used as that. Yes, there are custom jobs, but I'm talking for the sense of story and for variety in missions. Because I don't know about you guys, but if I wanted to do races, I'd pickg up a racing game. If I wanted to do death matches, I get a better experience in Call of Duty.

-Non-car customisation: this one I've wanted for multiple games for some time now. Let us respray and mod boats, planes, etc.

-"Full" character customisation: by this, I mean stop locking us off from dress content. This is both a SP/MP thing, by the way: let's stop locking down guys like Trevor, who are already batshit crazy. I mean, especially since he can wake up in a dress.

But mostly, there are several options in mens clothing I'd love to use in GTA online, but there's no female-designated equivalent. I'd be shocked if the same wasn't true for some of the women's options. Hell, I'm just thankful they added actual suits for women in the heists update so I can match the rest of my crew. And seriously, in a series that tries to be so "edgy" about gender, no cross-dressing?

-A female protagonist: Yeah, this one was always coming. Even Ubisoft has figured this out, and they're the ones who made the so-called "too hard to animate" argument. Saints Row had it figured out in 2008. In a game with 3 protagonists, this shouldn't even be an issue. And no, this isn't a cry of sexism or bigotry or whatever, I just want to be able to optionally play as a woman.

...though the "Post-Op" joke gets a little less funny with every passing week.

-More actual choices. GTA V was advertised in a "play yuor way" sort of thing. Which is true, except the heists are linear in online and binary in story. And missions often force you to play a certain way. Online jobs/heists will DQ you for going out of bounds in some cases.

This is especially bad with the arsenal I've amassed. You've allowed me to buy a tank, four helicopters, a VTOL, multiple armoured vehicles, and now you're going to tell me that the only way to do X is to walk in guns-ablazing? Granted, this is only heists and certain story missions, but still.

-A decent story.

GTA V is more like a loosely connected series of plot threads. The "Option C" ending sort of highlights this and tries to mash everything together, but I'm pretty sure options A and B highlight how little a clue they had about the direction of the game. Then again, looking at other Rockstar games, maybe I'm expecting too much.

-A "mix tape" option: Saints Row has let you select the tracks you want from the soundtrack since 1 or 2. This is something I think should be standard at this point. Especially since each character has a freaking smartphone. This is perhaps the most minor one, but after hundreds of hours in the game, it's also the one that might be the most refreshing.

Better mod support for one thing.

A more reasonable price model and no sale scumming like during the Steam Winter Sale would be another good thing, as well as not having a 2 year delay on an already complete game for the PC.

One of the things I wanted has already been added. First-person.
The PC version has this as an option, and it's terrible. Like, unplayably bad, so much so they actually added a bonus for completing hiests with it just to try and get people to use it.

First person is really handy for a lot of the planes and helicopters as the turbulence is reduced greatly. First person for shooting is made a bit easier if you turn the 3rd person in cover option on. I use this mode more frequently as shooting from cover is better third person, but first person is handy in tight areas where the camera might screw you up in third.

Female protagonist, an easier time soloing getting money online, a weapons playlist so you don't have to cycle through every weapon you've ever picked up to get to the one you want which is especially annoying when it defaults to a gun you don't want to use, same with clothes.
Maybe a revival of the cop minigame. People online love playing cops.

I hate the aiming system they use! the bullets need to have a trajectory instead of hit where the crosshairs are. If you try and shoot at a bad angle while driving a trailer truck, then you can actually shoot the top of the trailer! Kinda absurd.

What I want and what's realistic is completely two different things.

I really want to see a feature where you play the main story as a heavily customized character. You choose gender, appearance, and even the past of your character. For example like a cop that got framed, a white-collar crime convict, a street thug, or some guy desperate to make a few bucks. In sticking with the three characters thing, you meet up with two people at the start. Which you can also customize appearance, gender, and history, or just let the game randomly choose.

Like I said, it won't happen. But it is what I want to happen. The money shouldn't be an issue, it'd just be how much others like it.

Likeable protagonists. That's all I'd need.
Couldn't get into GTAV at all, I found the characters to be too unrelateable.

I'm of the opinion that GTA isn't even a good game let alone a perfect one.

What's the point of a sandbox game when the missions are all linear for the most part? Basically the following:

I also very much agree with the following:

-All Rockstar games control like ass in my opinion. The characters move sluggishly and very mechanically, climbing over a wall is a whole procedure. The aiming and shooting just never feels right. Just look at Max Payne 3 where taking cover from prone means standing straight up to be shot and then taking cover instead of just prone to cover like every other 3rd-person cover shooter. A game like Watch Dogs controls so much better and everything is so silky smooth from movement to aiming.

-Mercenaries (the 1st one) still stands as my favorite sandbox game because how open-ended every mission was. The reason every mission was good is due to each mission (its map design) was basically designed as a standalone mission where care was taken to enemy placement and all that (whereas GTA just spawns enemies for you to shoot). Then the world map was made by placing all these small maps (missions) on a canvas. Whereas GTA is designed world first and then come up with the missions and hope they are good. Rockstar designs the sandbox backwards basically.

-I very much hate Dan Houser's writing. I don't think GTA is going to get a good story until another writer is brought in.

A bigger map, faster cars, better car physics, more optional stuff, better visual and audio feedback, maybe a new engine because the models have never really looked good imo.

Just tighten up V really. And make more missions like the one where you chase the woman with your movie to the airport. And push the violent psychopath character farther, that scene with Trevor and Johnny actually made me feel something in my dead, numb, body.

A few suggestions spring to mind:

- Enemies that are harder to kill than a ladder is to climb, or easier ladders. Either way, really.

- Characters that don't fall over if a bit of grit gets under their foot. Stumbling is one thing, but you'd be forgiven for thinking total removal of the inner ear was the latest plastic surgery fad.

- Did R* ever sort out having the same button for both melee and shooting? If not, that.

- Never again change the camera location for jumps or climbing over things. 'Cinematic' is only tolerable when it stays out of gameplay.

Honestly, I would see a return of mini games that they removed in this version like the vigilante missions and firefighter ones. I have no clue why they removed them, they were fun

This, and about a 70% dail-back of the super smug cynicism.

GTA5 would be fantastic if the all characters weren't shallow, obnoxious shitbags, and the world wasn't bursting with the most juvenile name calling in place of genuine satire. Any semblance of intelligence has completely disappeared, and all that's left now is just nasty, mean-spirited bile. Not one genuine, heartfelt, or joyous story or character moment to be found in this entire game.

Also, having characters spewing out 'shit, shit, fuck, fuck, fuck, ****' incessantly is not good ad libbing, Rockstar.

In a nutshell; Some restraint.

Even if they just updated Vice City I would be happy, the game at that time was awesome and the nods to 80s culture just made it stick in memory. The additions of working out, dancing cars and pushbikes spoiled San Andreas for me, even though the game itself was widely acclaimed.
I wasn't keen on GTA IV for the friendship building stuff to get better gear, couldn't be arsed to waste more time on pointless tasks just to get a better selection of weapons.
They did get me back with GTA V, it was a much more enjoyable experience with some great characters (mainly Trevor) and the heist missions.
