Because Yahtzee doesn't like it.

His fans believe what he believes.

Why do I hate Final Fantasy? Because my experience in every FF game has been the same. Grind X number of levels on some generic enemy to beat some random boss. Rinse and repeat until I quit the game out of boredom. Happened in FF4, happened in FF5, and it happened in FF6. I would say it also happened in FF8, but I didn't even give that game a chance.

I didn't hate the games. The story was decent, the music was nice, and the game play was fun (for a certain period of time). It's just that after a while it gets boring. In my opinion, the games are just to long to maintain my interest.

Now as to why I dislike the more recent FF games is because they seem just like the old games only they ditched most of the stuff I like. The story isn't as good, the music isn't as good, and they recently ditched turn-based combat. That's just my opinion, and that's why I dislike Final Fantasy.

Also, I hate how people act like FF7 is the greatest game ever created.

I going to have to go with you on the faster passed combat and the easyer soloing.

I have no issues with lose exp when you die, so that good as it is.

However i would like for Gil to be more commen. I remeber when I first started and the game first came out, I was a red mage and more of a social player so gettign the funds I need for every thign was a huge pain.

I've said it before, and I'll say it agian: Squeenix, you have Kingdom Hearts, a game that has a beautiful battle system with party members to boot.
Use it.

A fucking end to the entire shit storm that is FF
Um, no. Final Fantasy games have always been, for their time, been at the very least technically competent products. You can say that about recent Sconic games, but not Squeenix games.
If you don't like them, that's OK.
Just leave them alone.

Something that connects the other 13 stories that have nothing to do with each other. And it to be the Final one.

First off whyyyyyyyyy must they make an mmo final fantasy, it goes against what the previous 11 (i am excluding number 11...coincidence i think not)have been, if they want to make a ff oriented mmo at least spare us the misery of killing the title's tradition.
Secondly, i want to see an attempt at a kingdom hearts battle system with for offline play (i.e. mmo online playing is optional as there is a fully-developed story-line for single play to fall back on (basically same place, the characters are there but are non-playable and you play as an unintroduced npc from the offline version doing a completely different set of missions)) oh and back to the kingdom hearts thing, make it like ffxii (three active party members on a real-world battle environment(free-roam)) but where the other two players are like donald and goofy (act as separate individuals who assist you) but keep the gambits as i think it gives better control over the characters.
Oh and no license board unless it shows where everything is and what everything is, and make it bigger. Everyone follow me, i tend to write messy when i get on a roll and i can't be stuffed proof reading my grammar/flow of the writing.

I understand that not all my ideas flow well but if they conflict just have the better one as i ust want as many as posible not all ideas.

A crisis core style combat system. It would lend itself very well to an MMO.

90 percent of the Escapist has also played Final Fantasy 7,8,9 and 10. Now we think they should drop it.

I suppose ill start with saying I made a half-hearted attempt with the search button before posting and if this thread has already bin done, sorry in advance.

Anyway, I am very excited about another Final fantasy MMO. Me and my friends have bin discussing quite alot about what things we would like to see.
I spent a total of 3 years playing FFXI and have yet to find an equally fun experiance, so i'm hoping for this one ^^

Personally I would like some better solo content. Now I'm not saying a complete turnaround enabling soloing to max level. The point of MMO is after all playing WITH people, just getting you ass kicked by easy preys. Perhaps a faster paced combat. I don't know, What would you like to see?
Wait 14? Isn't 13 still being made?

Quoted for truth. The very reason we hate FF "in present times" is because we played it, and the quality lowers in every installation. You know what would be a good FF game? If it were to follow on Kingdom Hearts' combat system. The reason is, the combat didn't bore me and grinding wasn't as painful.

I like Final Fantasy, after playing two of them this month I'm getting bored of the linear gameplay but the storys are better than a lot of other RPGs I've played.

Going from IX to XII I loved the new battle system that made it not random encountered fights and the game flowed much smoother. Even if the game did have a slight MMO feel to it I enjoyed it more than most other FFs.

So I'm hoping for the new one to be more fluid, a story without someone you meet turning out to be royalty and no infamous laughing scene equivalent.

Even if this would make it different from its classic feel, I have my DS for FF titles that are turn based.

Edit: Ive never leveled in a Final Fantasy game, (except IV). I usually just follow main story quest happily without being too weak. A few sidequests here and there, and I'm usually at an adequate level.

Any and every excuse to hurr durr their FF hate, I think. Hating on FF seems to be the cool thing to do for quite a lot of people here. Haters gotta hate, as they say.

Good for you, maybe. But not everyone likes real-time battle systems. Some of us like turn-based, and that is why we keep right on playing FF.
