I complete redo.

I'm tired of these weird classes they have. not saying they should follow every other bloody MMO out there but.
A better leveling system
Something that looks less like FFT online
better partying system
a more familiar FF art style.

I demoed 11 for 2 weeks. and i wasn't impressed. 14 doesn't look much different. so the chances of me actually paying for that shit is slim and i'm a pretty big final fantasy fan. my favorite game series

Well too be fair most of the classes they have in FFXI has already bin done in previusly made FF installments, if that was what you were refering to. I do love all the options they offer, so many classes to play, never running out of slots in char creation to try all the jobs.

I'd like a FF without levelling up. It's pointless. It's immature. It's a waste of time.

The idea that you get stronger by killing 100's of the same creature is complete and utter stupidity. Either make the fighters more strategic like a (good) tactics RPG, or make it more action orientated like Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, etc.

Come now, this is just insulting to the community and the thread.
Actually, I think that'd really be worth seeing XD

Good for you, maybe. But not everyone likes real-time battle systems. Some of us like turn-based, and that is why we keep right on playing FF.
I say sacrificing potential buyers like you would be worth it. Turn-based RPGs should be banned on the grounds that they're so illogical. No skill, no strategy, no brains needed. You just kill enough monsters by hacking them with the same overpowered moves until you're strong enough to defeat a boss in the same way.

Well there are some good tactical RPGs. Lost Odyssey imo you have to try new things, weaknesses, pattern learning and such. Predict ahead to some extent. Sitting in the middle of a bossbattle gripping the controller firmly with sweaty hands, biting your lip trying to figure out which move, which spell, can be very enjoyable and intense.

Oh god yes, I've bin waiting for a bearded hero for a long time.
That is my biggest trouble with JRPG in general, no more children. >< ever.

The return of my favorite character of all time; Auron from FFX. I know that it'll never ever happen, ever. But it would be the ultimate fan service for me, really. (That or game about cowboys and priests wielding giant guns and medieval weapons, battling cursed baglady zombies.)
No seriously, just to name something I'd like to see, which actually is a possibility (Not necessarily one to bet your money on) it would be real time combat instead of the turn-based kind.
I would like to see a Final Fantasy title with swordplay like, let's say Devil May Cry, just to name a good one. Not that weird kind from Crisis Core, or that new calculating... Uh, thing, whatever. They're going to use in Dissidia. Just plain button mashing, adrenaline-pumping quick sword fighting!

How about some more bits where I can press buttons?

Or not have to listen to a whiney teenage protagonist who looks like a pre-pubescant girl waving his over compensatory giant sword around in order to prove he's 'the best' while learning valuable life lessons along the way from the older, more experienced slightly less androgynous sensei?

FFXI was way too time-consuming for me to get into. It literally takes about a year of rather hardcore play in order to get ONE max-level character.

Don't get me wrong; it was a great game. But, to PLAY that great game, you had to have loads of time on your hands. I want a life too, please.

Marcus Fenix could possibly be the worst protagonist in a video game. His vocabulary consists of about 10 words, and half of them are profanity. That, and he's dumb as celery.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post, that was supposed to go as an edit.

So is it a tactical RPG or a turn based one? I don't know, I've not played it.

If it's what you're describing it like, it reminds me of Vagrant Story... now there was one awesome RPG... FF14 should be like THAT game.

Enough with the Final Fantasy should be final jokes. It's not funny anymore, grow up.
Not explaining why the title is Final Fantasy, I'm sure you have the ability to look it up yourselves.

And why are people surprised that there was a XIV? Have none of you heard of Project Rapture? It was pretty obvious they were doing something with FF.

Anyway, keep the story as good as it was in FFXI, made the bosses actually have a reason to be there instead of just being target practice. Less of a pain in the ass to level up. Sure, I love FFXI, but I do not want to spend a year getting a max level character and another few more to get my AF gear. It's just not worth it.

I hear ya dude. The major flaw of FFXI was the timesink. I had plenty of times where I was looking for party 5 hours+ logging off annoyed. I never disliked the massive grind needed for lvling, just the time it took to even be able to party.

It's turn-based for the 360, made by Sakaguchi. Mostly what you can expect from a JRPG story and char wise, but some great writing and for me good combat.

A decent MMO. FFXII gave me nightmares right when I installed it. Took 2 hours to set up a profile, 8 to download, patch and fully install, and 5 minutes in the game for me to say "I'm done".

You know what I want?

A great political story like Final Fantasy XII. I got sick of every game being about the main character have some deep emotional problem that affected the whole story. Final Fantasy XII was a nice change in direction and since Final Fantasy XIV is an online role playing game that type of story should be more likely.
