What would your ideal way to deal with zombies be?

Where would you hold up? Are there any particular weapons you would want? Would you trust other people, or are people just more potential zombies?
Get into as much detail as you want!

For me, Id like to be able to find an empty hotel. Get some guns and melee weapons and some explosives. Use the explosives to destroy stairways and elevators from on the first few floors, and set up a climbing system maybe through ropes or such, that way zombies wouldnt be able to get to the higher floors and attack people. I'd let others in but they would need to be checked each time they come back to be allowed back up. Id need to be able to have a garden on the roof to supply food, and some way to catch rain water.

What about you? what would your plan be?

I would try to make some kind of a metal armour while still being light weight so I wouldb't be exhauted when I'm running with the extra weight on me. I mean zombie teeth can't bite and scatch through metal.

Basically the same way I deal with the unwashed plebs. From very far away.

Slow zombies, Head away from civilization and just don't stop walking at a moderately faster pace than normal. Travel light.

Fast zombies, Find a multi story building with steel or concrete framework. Stockpile food and other supplies. Destroy stairs.

No heroics, or massive gun play, or hare brained schemes.

Steal a large armoured vehicle, garbage truck most likely, use it as combination battering ram/transport/shelter.

Weapons? 9mm pistol, 5.56mm rifle, 12 gauge shotty. In a world where production has halted, only the most common ammunition calibres will suffice.

Other people? Not sure. Survival is key, a zombie will kill you simply because that is what a zombie does, another human being has motivations and ideas of their own, trust would be an extremely rare commodity.

Take my van, go to the garden supply store that's nearby. It's got a huge spiked wrought iron fence surrounding the car park, and another fence surrounding the actual shop. Inside the shop are tons of different vegetable seeds and loads and loads of sharp gardening tools. Just down the road from my makeshift fort is a wholesale warehouse stocked with plenty of food and drink.

Ideally? I'd like a fortified island with good agriculture, access to fresh water, and a nice community of skilled people (as in, doctors, engineers, farmers, etc). I'd probably last a month alone in an apocalypse before blowing my head off, so a community is the most important part.

Go live on an island, zombies can't swim so either they die by water pressure or by fish either way I wouldn't even need weapons or anything

A sniper rifle would be nice though just in case a couple of em come near the island, for company I'd just keep a few close friends, strangers can't be trusted and will probably steal some of our stuff given the chance.
