Anything that has to do with politics really but mostly Immigration... While on the subject, the news media is a goddamn joke. /angry rant
THAT is not an angry rant.
I'LL show you how to angrily rant...
I'm American, and I hate the hell out of my country.
I hate the corrupt and inept politicians, ready and willing to throw the American people - all people, and the Earth itself really - under the metaphorical bus for the sake of maintaining their own short-lived self-security.
I hate the violent and short-sighted military leaders that use my fellow countrymen (and women) as pawns in various world-wide schemes to control the balance of power in their favor (regardless of the long term effects on innocent foreigners, which may well drive them to become the next in a long line of enemies forged by our own hand), and are perfectly happy to see them die or be tossed aside after their perceived use has been fulfilled.
Perhaps most of all, I hate my fellow countrymen, past and present, for constructing a nation built on hypocrisy and greed, and for letting it progress to the point where our representatives - men and women who have essentially sworn an oath to serve the people, to represent the interests of their fellow countrymen, above and before their own personal interests - are little more than power-hungry, money-grubbing snake-oil salesmen, shouting during their election campaigns about the action they will take, and then taking no actions when their victory is achieved - aside from those which might grant them further wealth or prestige.
We've let it devolve a point where our military leaders are but government-sanctioned warlords, sending forth their servile dogs - US servicemen and women, once a symbol of loyal citizens willing to give their lives to protect the interests of their bretherin, now little more than an organization of hired thugs and underachievers, treading towards a meager paycheck over the bodies of the ignorant and the naive - to battle enemies of our own construction.
I hate it how the majority of my countrymen continue to have no concept as to why much of the world hates and fears us, even as we send forth wave-after-wave of heavily-armed, morally-questionable individuals to fight a threat that originally came about because our own leadership, greedy and short-sighted even then, made poor choices in whom they would 'get into bed with' politically - something they continue to do to this day.
I hate that the system of corruption and greed and stupidity has become so powerful, so utterly entrenched in the minds and mannerisms of my people, that there is no hope for recovery, no chance of fixing a corrupt system from within that system - if it even deserves to be fixed.
Frankly, I hate us. All of us.
I hate that we are so caught up in our individualism, so focused on trying to be special and unique and important, so driven to seek pleasure and contentment in our short pathetic lives, so proud are we that we believe we are safe to indulged in delusional fancy, to throw off our cares and sink down into a mire of video games, celebrities and 24-hour television, to claim ourselves 'superior', 'dominant', perhaps worst of all, to believe we have the capacity to 'conquer nature'; to all of which, I laugh contemptuously.
Our entire species could be wiped out in the blink of an eye, with very little effort on nature's behalf, and it is entirely possible few - if any - of us would even be aware of the impending doom. It does not have to be this way.
Yet, many of us proudly seek a calling that will in no-way-whatsoever improve the world.
We call ourselves 'actors', 'game designers', 'professional athletes'.
We do unimportant work, keeping ourselves busy and earning wealth - often utterly undeserved.
We dream of realities that don't exist, ignoring the innumerable wonders of our own world, of one another, in favor of well-presented lies.
We close ourselves off into our tiny microcosms, claiming to ease the stress and burden of merely existing by sheltering within a miniature World of Us, wherein we can shut out the greater reality - that our species is floundering in shark-infested waters, crippled by the divisions we build, blinded by our fear of the unknown, and praying, wishing, hoping that something will come forth to save us, even as every back-handed attempt proves more of a farce than the last.
I hate that the metaphorical sharks will eventually arrive, but moreover, I hate that I wholly believe we will deserve whatever happens to us when they come.
... And THAT is how you angrily, perhaps even psychotically, rant.
