Don't get me wrong, I liked the first one, but I'd like to see improved combat myself. Anyone have any other ideas as to what they'd like to see?

Well, the different story structure looks interesting, and it seems we won't be saving the world, which is also quite refreshing.

They seem to have kept the good bits from Origins, and mixed it with newer concepts, so hopefully it should all work quite well. My initial concern was that they were just ditching the old-school RPG thing all together.

More powerful(Read: not useless) archery. More spells, more specialization, a little more balance between the specializations, and in general more customization. Maybe add a 5th tier to all spell and talent trees. That way, a warrior/rogue can't have all the talents they want at 20th level. Having to make a choice, not just getting everything, would be nice.

The improved combat... No longer will i have to shuffle towards my enemies brandishing my double sword awesomeness, while getting fucking owned by three seperate mages all using that spell that stops you from fucking healing!

Also Leliana...

I'd like different options for upgrading characters. I mean mages it was so different for each set up(not that all where useful) but each of the combat classes seem so similar to the power ups in a different one.

I can understand why they would wanna keep combat consistent but for those of us on a ps3, we wanna have something easier to use when we are dictating part actions. Pc guys have it all at their fingertips encompassing the whole keyboard. That requires a lot of memorization but its better than trying to control it all with 10 buttons. Give us a battle menu where everything is there to change at any time and we can choose an action instead waiting for more damn slots.

Besides that i'm good especially with all those cutscenes. Some people may not like that but if they can give a great story in it with halfway decent graphics i'll watch for a decent portion of the game.

I quite liked the combat but then again perhaps it just didn't work on a console. Did you play on PC or console?

ANYWAY, This developer diary shows a lot of the changes that are being made. http://bit.ly/eKRfri

They all good pretty good in my eyes, and I'm glad the PC version will still have the option of using tactical stop start combat.

Archery ain't shitty if you invest everything in to Dexterity and have a decent bow.
But it's just not as good as... anything else.

I hope you aren't limited to a default character face despite there now being a 'proper' main character.

Played on pc, the slow combat with mmo controls made me sleepy.
But I really shouldn't be looking for fun combat in a game that isn't an action rpg.

You know I was starting to feel pretty meh about Dragon Age 2 even tho I pre-ordered it. I just picked up DA:Awakening during EA's sale (it was half off!) and I gotta say, I really miss playing this game. So excited!

Only thing I kind of miss is being able to make your own character but I'm sure I'll get over it.

Console player here!

It's still very tactical, about the only thing you can't do is order units to move around when paused, you can only change targets, making them move to another. You can't just say, stand back here, away from my Firestorm! Actions can still be queued up to be unleashed all at once after unpausing.

Still managed to beat Nightmare rather handily, though.

Nightmare ay? Obviously the game was made easier on a console ;) *

*Disclaimer: I know that they're the same.

Arrow of Slaying...Arcane Warrior...Mana Clash...Arcane Warrior...Tank spec'd Shale...Arcane Warrior...

You know what pisses me off?

Leliana joins your party appearing to be a dagger wielding rogue, but all her stats are in archery. I feel bad for the sucker who falls for Bioware's trap and uses her as a non-archer.

With the game taking place over 10 years, I would love to see your main character from the first game become a party member. Especially if they become a romance option.

also captchas suck
