I'm currently reading The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster - just finished City of Glass. Insanely slick piece of metafiction. Three detective stories, all very noir-esque. Trying to figure out all the ways in which the author is subverting the author-reader-protagonist relationships could cause chronic insomnia and mild hair loss.
You know you're in for a good read when, at the end of the first chapter, a stranger phones the protagonist asking for a "Detective Paul Auster".
;
Also slowly (mostly because I'm lazy) but surely working my way through Terry Pratchett's Reaper Man.
