Dude, Guy, Mate, Bruv/Bro, Son, Boy, Guv'nor, Buddy, Dawg, Homie, etc.

All these are words that I have heard used to address each other along with many more. Do you use any of these or another or even one you coined and are known to use?

I occasionally find my self saying dude, mate and very rarely guv'nor usually without meaning to they just latch onto the end. I found myself calling people Chief a lot recently and I have no idea where I picked it up from but I don't know anyone else that uses it and its sort of become my thing.

Do you find yourself adding these to end of almost every other sentence? "What's up ______? "

I call my friends "Brotato's" a lot.
"Broski" also comes out.

Haven't used "Dude" or "Mate" in a while, though.

Dawg and foo.

Its involuntary, I can't help it, especially when everyone I am around says them.

Don't make fun of me.

I tend to call people "buddy" quite a bit, it stems from my Maritimer blood. Spend enough time in (English) New Brunswick and it just becomes a habit.

I usually say mate when I'm being sarcastic or descretly insult someone.

"Wow mate you're right you really do deserve all that attention."

Or me and a couple friends will use dawg or bro iornically, I hope they realise its ironic anyway.

The only one I probably use as a greeting or means of identification is guy.

I often use the term "chey" or "che" (not sure of spelling, but pronounced "chay").

A lot of the locals in the Falkland Islands use it and I picked it up during the two years I lived there a while back. I don't say it as much as I used to, but I like it because no-one else says it, though they generally tend to understand what I mean.

As a girl, I can be way more affectionate with my friends even in a simply friendly way. I don't think twice about it and often end up calling people "darlin'", "hun" or "babe." Sometimes even I make myself cringe.

Bith, whore, **** for male friends. I don't call my female friends any names but I like to make fun of them a lot which made me earn a lot of smacks already.
I don't know why, but I make fun of my female friends much more than of my male friends so I think I'm trying to make up for it by not calling them bad names.

I refer to my friends by names or nick names. Strangers are 'mate' or 'lad.' Liverpool, eh?
