Rootbeer. I'd like to explore the world and taste every kind of rootbeer.

For now, I'll have hot chocolate.
Try rootbeer and black coffee. It sounds weird but I discovered that it's quite pleasant.
Would that be an ice cold bottle of rootbeer mixed with freshly brewed hot black coffee? Is the temperature differential important?

Yes, it's important. That is exactly the way to do it. I'm not sure why, but my experimenting has led me to these precise ingredients.

You're doing a great service here. One slight exception is Belvedere. Belvedere is bleck. I personally prefer Ketel One or Titos. If you don't know Titos, check it out. Also, veuve is the only champagne.
I'm not sure if Either brand of vodka is available in Australia. I'll have to have a look. At least you have chosen a brand of champaigne and not sparkling even if it isn't from the Second House of France, it shows you have taste and good booze knowledge!

I'm not all that sure there are that many brands of root beer outside the US I'm afraid. The closest thing we Aussie's have is Sarsparilla.

I assume you can get Ketel One. Titos, most definitely not. It's produce in small copper casks in Texas and only available in the US. It's astonishingly amazing though. Also, I'm a bartender. I'd be pathetic if I didn't have some small knowledge of booze. Thank you, though.

Edit: Love me some sarsaparilla.

How is Sarsparilla? What's it taste like?

First off OP, I love you. From your avatar to your choice of beverage; I love you. Whiskey, specifically bourbon (apparently like you) is my favorite. I suggest Rebel Yell or Buffalo Trace. Both, in my eyes, are the best bourbon one can buy. The beauty is that they're not very expensive but are mind blowingly amazing.
ill hafta give it a go. Scotch, whiskey, or whatever is available is good to me. God i feel like an alcoholic.

On a side note, I am a college student, and when i go to parties i bring with me a flask or a bottle with whiskey either straight or mixed adn if anyone asks they cringe and i dont understand, i dont think its bad, but everyone else around me has beer. And in movies and tv hen they portray it and jsut cringe i dont agree with that. jager yes, whiskey, no.

What brand of rootbeer and coffee did you use?

I assume it doesn't matter about the brands. However I believe it was Barqs (apparently I'm a caffeine junkie) and New England Coffee brand.

Vodka: Finlandia, or Red Army (but I cant get it at here anymore)

Ahhh a fellow hospitalier hey. I'm kitchen staff myself! We back of house always appreciate a good bartender. Reading some of the comments you made in this thread though I did have my suspicions.

Slightly less sweet than root beer with a bit more of a liqorish flavour to it. Other than that they taste quite similar.

Only classy men will sip from a flask. Don't let their jealousy/ignorance slow you down!! Seriously though, try those bourbons. Rebel Yell sells for about $13 dollars (sorry, redundant) a bottle and Buffalo Trace goes for about $27. Buffalo Trace was originally only "seasonal" and was available for about two months out of the year. It also cost about $70. Then, they decided to market differently and essentially made one of the best bourbons on the market, available to everyone.

Hahaha. You're kind is my favorite (I'm sure you're aware). I've actually done my share of BOH work and won small awards for my cooking. It just got too hectic back there and I truly appreciate the work you folks do. It's common in our industry to treat cooks well (they're all drunks anyways, hahaha), but I especially go out of my way for them.

Hahaha, that was quite funny. Hobgoblin is a fine beer.

Do you mean Hammer and Sickle? I actually forgot to mention that earlier. I haven't bought it in about two years, but it's actually my most favorite vodka. I went on a binge and kept at least 2 bottles in my freezer for about seven months. I'd just pour a tumbler full and pound bottle after bottle.

Eh... I'm not much of a drinker... though when I was in 6th grade my dad mixed scotch and Kool Aid and that was pretty good I guess... tasted just like Kool Aid...<.<
