If your looking for some brittish indie, with good riffs and clever lyrics id suggest -

The Holloways - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RXBq2jfBnM
Bromheads jacket - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9aDAFMjxpI - slower, and frankly a brilliant piece of song writing

or you can try some other more random selections, such as Gogol Bordello, your one stop place for gypsy punk :p - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elyQ4ShVw-Y - brilliant fast paced punk gypsy classic... yes I did just say that :p

or if you want a Somlian rapper, who raps about things that actually matter in a mature and affecting way, look for K'naan - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7WNuYPVBZU

if anyone watches any of these, and likes/dislikes feel free to pm me :)

Flogging Molly is a good Irish-American punk band that is below the radar to some of my friends.

I'd have to say Alestorm. Nobody I know seems to have heard of them unless I played them some. Also not many people seem to know Mad Caddies and they're pretty awesome. Also i response to other people's posts, Tyr are awesome, I used to listen to Dashboard Confessional before I got into heavier bands and Aquabats are awesome.

Blue Syndrome
Home Star Runner (Not the cartoon!)
The Remember Kids
The Shower Scene
The Mission Distrct.

I have seen all of them in concert, in some random gig's. They are some of my favorite bands ever, and no one knows them at all

Mr Bungle would be the most unheard of thing in my music collection I guess. Not a lot of people knew of At the Drive in / Mars Volta before the guitar hero games too I think

Alice Nine
Dir en Grey
Any music created by Nobou Uematsu or Akira Yamoaka

Most likely a lot of people on the escapist have heard of these, however this is in terms of not one person I know knowing them

Falconer and (hed)p.e

No one I know seems to know these two bands which I find quite frustrating as they both make great music.

Well no-one seems to know of Strung Out. But if you like punk rock then you may want to check them out.

These are two of my favourite bands.

If you like them then howsabout:

Bigwig - 'Reclamation' is their best album
Five Knuckle
Propagandhi - Today's Empire's, Tomorrow's Ashes
Raised Fist - The only album of theirs I have is 'Sound of the Republic'
Redlightsflash - 'Free...' is they best album (Last Come, First Served is awesome)
Zero Down - only one album but definitely worth a listen.

(And I recommend this band to everyone:)
Strung Out.

No one beyond Derbyshire has ever heard of the Old Dance School or David Gibb. So folky, so very folky...

I once heard two Tom Vek songs and I never heard head nor tail of him.
