Don't knock it 'till you've tried it, that's my motto. It's also why all of my deal breakers are all based on personal experiences. It's also why my love life is so awful.
I have more grievances nobody cares about, very specific ones, though they're probably not appropriate for these fora.
- Drugs. I dated someone who I found out was an alcoholic, loved the side-effects of sleeping pills, and would shoot hop on occasion. Refused any help, claiming she had no problem. She would call me at 2 in the morning, high as a kite being flown by Ozzy Osbourne, and complain about feeling ill, her symptoms matching those of opiate withdrawals.
- Cheating. I was with someone for eight months, who cheated on me at least five times in that period.
- Religious zealots. One girl spent our entire second date trying to convert me to her sect of Christianity.
- Liars. Just in general, I guess.
- Having no self esteem whatsoever. I was with a gorgeous young woman at one point who was convinced she was hideous. She was funny, smart, shared some of my taste in music, but every conversation would turn to her feeling sorry for herself. She was too insecure to be intimate with anybody, and we scarcely saw each other because she was worried we might get carried away and I'd see her nude.
- Hinters. People who drop hints rather than just saying things. I knew a girl throughout highschool that dropped hints for two years. She finally got sick of it and moved to the other side of the country. After that happened, I looked back at our time together and realized she wanted a relationship with me (she totally did, not just wishful thinking). I would've been up for it if she just asked in plain terms, but no, she had to beat around the bush, and so she never got her bush beaten. Sloppy analogy, I know.
- Anyone who left their boyfriend to pursue me. If they did it once, they'll do it again, and next time I'll be the one left behind. Sorry, lady I met at a party one time, I just can't trust you.
- STD's. I knew a girl with heaps of STD's, who wanted to share them. No deal, STD's are a private thing, like using the toilet, or internet piracy.
