I wasn't a fan of racing games. But ever since I committed a few hours to Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, I am really enjoying this racing game. Now I want to know more about the whole world of racing and cars, and I want to try out more titles from the genre, including Dirt and Pure. What I like best about Motorstorm is:

1. the graphics: great water and mud effects, lovely sceneries
2. the adrenaline of bumping with other cars and flying in the air

Oh yeah, I'm not sure why online multiplayer doesn't work. Seems like the online community is dead for some reason. Sad.

A long time ago I didn't really like FPS's; I was hell bent on sticking with platformers and the such, but then I tried First Person mode in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and found that I loved it. I've played a good many FPS's ever since and I quite enjoy them.

Hey, same here. I used to not be a fan of FPS, but thanks to the Modern Warfare franchise, Bioshock, and Fallout 3, I'm enjoying some FPS now. Looking forward to Halo:Reach.

Racing and FPS games are hit-and-miss for me. Some are really, really good and I can't put them down... others make me want to hurt myself or go play with a glass of water, a spoon and a bit of glitter.

I'm thinking of trying some FPSes. I have advanced ADD. slow reflexes, & the graphics distract the hell out of me, but I think it could be theraputic & maybe even teach me to focus a little. Try something in a forresty or tropical setting with some really funny game glitches, like Crysis.

When I was young (before the original xbox), I hated FPSs because I sucked at playing them on the PC. Then Halo: CE came out (got an xbox for a 2001 Christmas gift) and I love FPSs ever since, well most of them anyways. FPSs are now my favorite genre with RPGs in second. I don't know why, but RPGs have been the opposite for me. I remember playing Diablo 2 ALL the time (and 2 and half years spent on an MMO) and now games like Mass Effect and Fallout 3 just don't "WOW" me. If the new game Bungie is working on is a RPG, they might have a chance at bringing me back to RPGs

I actually hated fighting games for a while until I sat down, learned how to play and beat mostly anyone that button-mashes blindly. Technique FTW!

Play Metro 2033. Get it today. Very pretty, very atmospheric, will teach to either A) Conserve Ammo and look everywhere for lootable bodies or B) get really good with the Throwing Knives.

::Looks up screencaps:: It looks like one of those shooters that only comes in shades of brown & grey.

Oddly, I hated FPS for most of my gaming life. Then 2 years ago, my friend got me the original Perfect Dark and Rainbow Six for my N64. I didn't like Perfect Dark, but the original Rainbow Six was good enough to indoctrinate me into the FPS genre. I think it's because I liked the tactical gameplay, and because that game was so easy on the lower difficulty settings.

'Hate' isn't really the right word but for a long time I had disinterest in puzzle games. I found them to be boring and uninspired, but then I sat down and played Portal and I finally got why people love them so much. Because it feels good when you work out a puzzle and find yourself thinking deeply, attempting to solve each one.

So yeah, I'm a convert now.

Fantasy RPGs. Morrowind gave me a swift kick in the ass and I corrected my way of thinking.

I went through a period when all I played were FPSes and I hated RPGs. Luckily though, the good men at Square and Bioware have made a huge RPG fan out of me. And now I hate most FPSes.

Fighting games, then SSB showed me the light.
SSB and Soul Calibur for me. I used to loathe fighting games, except for the occasional dose of Mortal Kombat. Then SSB rocked my world.

Decision based (Bioware) RPG's were always too slow for me...

...just picked up a cheap copy of Mass Effect 1 and I really like it. The story is very well written.
