Also, a game called darkest of days got horrid reviews only because
A. It had no boobs.
B. It had a new concept.
C. It had new gameplay ideas like enemies you have to keep alive or you skew the timeline.
I highly doubt game reviews give bad reviews because a game is different. I know many games that got great reviews BECAUSE they are different.
Name one.

I say creativity, I can overlook minor gameplay flaws if I'm immersed in a unique and exciting world.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl and Cryostasis manage this perfectly.

Care you actually prove a point rather then argue and say stupid stuff just for shits and giggles?

I prefer polish over creativity, but both are needed to make a game really good.

I love Uncharted.

Both are important, but mainly creativity. in my opinion it only affects me as long as the game actually has a long span of gameplay before it gets boring.

Oh and the game needs EXPLOSIONS.

A game needs polish. Anyone can have a good idea, but if it's handled awfully, and implemented poorly it'll be as much as ... well a poorly implemented and handled idea. But the point is that some of the best games out there have no original ideas, but have refined, and perfected something others have done before. Good ideas without polish though, just come across as poorly playable and sometimes frustrating for it.

Depends on if you think 5 people make up the entire population of the earth as far as reviews go.

So clearly your just making bullshit up now because you've ran out of things to say. If your going to call people out on something make sure you can back your point up with intelligent arguements rather then just putting everyones off.

Creativity.

You can always polish, patch or fine tune a game's working. But it's core elements are set in stone.

Examine, Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines. Buuuugggggyy game, but very creative and intelligent.

I miss Troika :'(

Polish. A game can be fun without creativity, but a game can be the most creative, original and refreshing idea ever and still fail because it is executed poorly.

In an ideal world, we'd have both, all the time, but I'd rather have fun with a game than merely appreciate its originality.

Personally I think that a game without any polish will be terrible no matter what, whereas a game without any creativity can still be fairly good, even if it won't be perfect. So if I had to choose one when I'd get none of the other,

Actually, you just proved his point. If those games aren't any good, then they got the high review scores just for being creative and different. But to add games which are good and creative and get good review scores:

Abe's Oddysee or Abe's Exodus.
Braid.

While I would say polish over creativity, something reminds me constantly that I am quite fine playing a very generic uncreative game, as long as it is polished to a mirror shine, whereas new and original games, while they hold my interest more, annoy mewhen they don't have the polish necessary.

Then again, polish is usually referring to graphics or level design etc, as long as the core gameplay works, creativity over polish anyday. You don't need flashy graphics for a good game.

Polish. Just look at Uncharted 2. It's not "creative" but it's been polished to such an extend that you can't really say anything negative about it...
