For me, Its odd. I actually liked Independence Day, Godzilla (1998), and Disaster movie but most people seem to hate those.

Because it popped up recently, I really like Silent Hill.
I also liked Ghost Ship which most people found mediocre at best.

Tons of my friends hated Pulp Fiction, but I think it's an awesome movie.

Kill Bill. I honestly though this movie had nothing but love, but most of the time all I see is hate.

The Resident Evil films. Sure, they aren't loyal to the games at all but they are a fun watch.

I Am Legend is another film that I liked that others hated, but even I must admit they were kinda lazy with the CGI.

Southland Tales. It was the very poorly recieved second movie by the director of Donnie Darko. I love Southland Tales, I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be. And a lot of my friends do like to remind me of how bad they think it is on a regular basis.

I actually like David Lynch's "Dune".
As an adaption of the novel it sucks hairy balls, but the film itself is entertaining.

Exclude polarizing films where people either love or hate them...
I would say... Lord of War and the Weather Man. Everyone hated them and I thought they were great. I hadn't seen previews for either before seeing them though and from what I understand thats probably part of it.

I thought Year One was pretty funny. I admit it's not the best work considering such big names are involved, but I think it deserves far more then a 17% from Rotten Tomatoes.

Same goes for Blankman, only I don't think any big names were involved with that one.

In real life: Van Helsing & Orphan are two I can think of.

On here: I can't think of any that I've previously mentioned that someone hasn't told me "I like that too".

Silent Hill was one of my favourite films, yet critics seem to despise it. Probably cause they don't know the games, it's pretty important that you do before you watch the film...
