I honestly don't see why people get so worked up over him. He's mainly involved in action movies, which I see to watch stuff blow up. There's been a lot said about the Transformers movies, but personally I like them alright. I went to see giant robots beat the shit out of each other. It did, after all, start as a cartoon series spawned from toys. It's not like there's a great literary background to defame. Also, it appears that Bay has become the easy target. I've recently seen several movies that are much worse than anything Bay has done.

And, yes I am ready for the vitriolic spew that is to be shot in my direction. BRING IT ON!

Edit: And NO ONE else does action sequences where you can't focus on anything? Also, I'm not sure precisely how you're saying the "story" in Transformers ruins robot beating on each other. If had just been two solid hours of Robot UFC, you'd probably be bitching about how there was no plot.

Because all he can do is show things being blown to shit and not even well.

If there's an action scene, he seems incapable of making it to where you actually see what the fuck is going on.

Plus, he has produced some really terrible shit.

His movies are great for a couple hours of mindless entertainment. He does explosions right as far as I can see.

People get mad about the fact that he uses explosions and females to attract attention. Also, they feel like he ruined their childhood. Me, I'm not so picky about movies. Games yes. Music HELL yes. But when it comes to movies, all I'm looking for is entertainment.

What's so wrong with Michael Bay?

EVERYTHING. I didn't think it was possible to mar something as brainless as the Transformers series, but lo and behold, Transformers 2 was one of the most rotten shit-covered movies I've ever seen. I feel asleep...TWICE. BOTH times in what people might call "action" scenes...

I quite liked Transformers 2, apart from Megan Fox, the 'black' robots, and the wrecking ball joke.

Yeah, I guess if you want to watch gratuitous explosions, then he's your man. But if you don't really (like myself) then ignore him.

He made The Rock and Armageddon, two of my favorite action movies, so I don't know what all the hate is about.

He spends a fortune on shallow explosion-fests, and seems to put racist characters in every so often. Transformers 2 was his worst IMO being a big paint by numbers "Summer Blockbuster" movie. If every film where a Michael Bay film Roger Ebert wouldn't call cinema an art form either.

Jesus where to start. He has a big budget, he can get decent actors. Instead he gets Megan Fox, few other terrible actors and abuses CGI like there is no tomorrow. His wannabe action sequences are terrible. Other than that there is nothing else, other than stupid jokes and awful comedy relief.

I know that bringing up logic in movies about carbots is a bit redundant, but his Transformers movies had more plotholes and terrible plot decisions than some of the Uwe Boll´s masterpieces.

He is everything that is wrong with any form of "art" nowadays. Be it mindless music, dumbed down games or films. Just because people are willing to go so friggin low, we have to suffer these piles of puke.

I prefer characters, not explosions, so for personal tastes nothing he does appeals to me. I tried to watch some of his stuff and I ended up being so disinterested I struggled to finish them.

Because he has a nasty tendency to be lazy with his work. All he does is mainly try and make them as brainless as possible, creates stupid characters, can't cast worth a damn, and seems intent on squeezing every last possible cent out of franchises, whether or not they deserve it.

He turned Pearl Habour into a Coca Cola ad, and somehow made it a US victory, complete with the 'sunset' cliche. I.e. Garbage.

And he turned Transformers into bland gun metal grey...things, and made them explode.

He only really knows how to make explosions. That's it. He can't make a decent story or even set up a action scene that's coherent. Seriously, the fights in the Transformers movies were horrible and a mess to follow (didn't help that at distance all the transformers looked basically the same)

The characters he makes are annoying as hell and riddled with cliches, not to mention played by horrible actors . He bugs me mostly because I care a lot about films (I have family in the business and I'm trying to become a screenwriter) and his films are usually complete shit but make huge amounts of money.

That said I did like The Rock.

All he can do is action. Even then, he doesn't do it particularly well. When he attempts to add romance to the movie, it is awkard, when he tries to do comedy, it is pale and not all that funny to a majority of the viewers.

Not to mention that when he tried to do a movie with an ending that was already written out, he made a bunch of historical mistakes.

Even Transformers 2 was filled with more holes then swiss cheese and a plot that was poorly written.

The only movie I have ever nitpicked is 2012, I thought that was horrible. I've been a fan of Transformers since I was a child, that being said I still believe the original cartoons are better than anything else ever produced but I do like the movies, not love just like.

Transformers movies did suck, but Michael Bay made The Island, and I thought that was really good.
