What's the age of conset, from where you live?

I'm just curious on how different the age of consent is around the world and how you guys view it.

So do you agree with the age of consent in your country? Do you think it needs to be reformed? Is it working at all where you live?

Here in Texas the age of consent is 17 and the only problem I have with it is that if a person can legally have sex at 17 then why is it illegal to buy porn at that age even though you are having sex?

So what do you guys think?

I'm not sure about all of Canada but I think it's 14 but only if your within 2 years of the other person's age. I might be very wrong though.

In the UK it's 16, though porn and alcohol are both restricted to 18 year olds. Alcohol, fine, but surely if you can have sex at 16 you should be allowed to buy porn at that age too? Especially since jerking off to porn is much safer than having sex with someone, except you can get condoms at any age, so why block porn until you turn 18? It's just pointless and stupid...

not sure if the age for gay sex is on par with that or still only at 18

the porn is illegal below 18 because you have to be over 18 to be able to legally consent to being photographed naked (over 21 in some parts)

It's 17 here, but personally, I wouldn't protest with it being increased to 25, just to stop every bloody randy teen from talking about sex, and being arrested and criminally charged if they do engage in the act.

I don't think making things illegal stops teenagers from doing it.

You can do anything you like to each other sexually when you are 16 but if you take a picture of your partners 'bits' you're going to jail.

I guess 16, but it's a bit confusing and I don't really care about sex anyway so I can only assume it is 16.

Interestingly, it's 12 in the Vatican. Of course they don't have children there, but the irony is sweet.
