Here in Idaho (USA) the law is kind of funny. The age of consent is 18 but the definition of rape is penetration of the vagina by a penis. SO, statutory rape could conceivably be committed, and I think may have already been committed, by a 15 year old male on a 17 year old female.

That's OK though. Here, if a man walks in on his wife in the act of adultery and immediately kills them both (or more) it is manslaughter. If a woman does the same thing it counts as 1st degree murder.

In Jersey it's 14 if both party's are under 17. Otherwise its 17. Alwase found that odd.

And the only problem I have with it is that if a person can legally have sex at 17 then why is it illegal to buy porn at that age even though you are having sex?

I've always loved that law. Apparently, it means you must close your eyes when ever you do anything to do with the naked body until you are of age to buy porn. I tried to use that excuse to my parents when I tripped over getting out of the shower once. They still wouldn't buy me a copy of PLayboy.
