A while ago I got Mirrors Edge for $8. Theres nothing better than handing over a $10 for a game and getting change.

Indeed. I grabbed both Left 4 Dead games at $7 a piece from steam.JayDub147 said:Got S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 1 & 3 for $5
I usually prefer hard copies, but you just gotta love Steam holiday sales.
Steam sales shouldnt count either. Thats just cheating.OpiateChicken said:Protip: Pirated games don't count.
It's the best deal that we've gotten. Also the sales are legal and come from a company. It's not just buying something second hand from someone who is desperate to get some cash from a game they haven't touched in years.emeraldrafael said:Steam sales shouldnt count either. OT: I have a friend that works at game stop, and we know the guy that runs it. So when he gets a brand new game with the box and stuff that he knows or thinks I would like, he saves it away, says the game was broken (they allow something like 5 games for every so many they get in to be broken and count it in the Cost of Goods Sold), and keeps it for me. I then go in and buy it, and he takes it on the Sale price. The Used price. Then gives me discounts on the discount prices. So I get new $59.99 games for something like $5 bucks her so.
In fact, I remember the one day I said all I had was a dollar, and so he lowered the price so low it wound up being something like $0.72. And that was WITH a controller. So thats $59.99 game plus however much the controller was (I wanna say) $35.99 for $0.72.
Eh. Then again... oh, wait a minute.Ca3zar416 said:It's the best deal that we've gotten. Also the sales are legal and come from a company. I will have to disagree with you on that one. I think it's actually a great idea and could actually be implemented quite well in the future. If you think about Game Stops used games system vs. Steam sales, Steam sales are actually better for developers and publishers. The person who only ends up buying a game because of a Steam Sale would have been the person who searches for it used in Game Stop. If you buy used from Game Stop 0% of that money goes to developers. I would believe through Steam at least some of it would go to developers and that is better than nothing. While Steam isn't a perfect system it's something that should definitely be looked into so we have systems that help developers and gamers better than things like project ten dollar.emeraldrafael said:Eh. Ahem, then again, I'm on of those people that doenst like Steam. But I find it a bad business model that needs to be destroyed, from the economic level.
I disagree. It creates a void in the market and a monopoly, because you're buying (near if not) full games online. You think developers will be happy that they're making $11 on a $60 game? Haha, you're out of your mind. Steam is something that should be stopped, and soon, before "Steamites" (as my friends and I call them) want it to be bigger, better, and more comprehensive.Ca3zar416 said:Snip
