Charles Barkley's Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden.

An epic story of redemption and sacrifice, fatherhood and heroism.

Imagine Final Fantasy VI, but set years after the events of Space Jam, in a dystopian future, after Manhattan was destroyed by a Chaos Dunk.

And that's only the beginning.

Shut Up. And Jam.

Edit: Here's a link. I guess some people are too lazy to Google...

Sonic Robo Blast 2 (a fan made 3D sonic game. HOLY CRAP was it fun. Plus, they even have a deathmatch multiplayer mode where you shoot rings at each other)

Ragnarok online (well....the server I played on was free anyway)

D&D online and LotR online, though I don't reallly like LotrO but I love D&D, since it's more party based.

Tetris and space invaders.

Hooray that those games are so old they're free.

Also, Continuity. That's such a cool game.

I'd have to say D&D online. I suppose it's just another damned MMO in the end, but at least it uses a real D20 system. Much less forgiving than your average pansy-ass, quick-regenerating MMO system.

I've heard the LOTR online its awesome even if you dont pay, you got every feature but those like overpower armor and weapons (cuz those who pay are supposed to be the hereos... cuz they pay xD)

I havent looked up D&D online, gotta check that out!

While probably not better than, say, Echo Bazaar or similar text-based MMOs, I had tons of fun with the Kingdom of Loathing. The comedic value makes up for less-than stellar artwork, and the core gameplay is satisfying enough to stand up on its own.

As far as Flash games go, one of the best I've ever played is the MARDEK RPG series. If you appreciate light parody of Final Fantasy and the like and you're into well-detailed RPG universes, give it a try.

Oh god no, it's just a shameless and amazingly shitty rip-off of Jumper. Derp.

Speaking of which, all of Matt Thorson's games are awesome. Linky [http://www.mattmakesgames.com/games.php]

AnUntitledStory in particular, it's incredible. You start out as an egg with no idea what you're doing, eventually you hatch, the game gets a great storyline, it becomes a massive 2D exploration adventurey thing, basically, it's awesome in a nutshell.

And Sauerbraten's definitely worth a look, too. Linky [http://sauerbraten.org/]

Try out Cave Story! It's a beautiful and challenging platformer made by one guy a few years back. Highly recommended.

Oh yeah, it also has the best soundtrack I've ever seen from a game, exception maybe for the Guilty Gear series.

League of Legends.
There are a lot of champions to choose from, a lot of different builds, team compositions, laning and teamfight tactics, you name it.
Because of that, it doesn't get boring(unless you play all day every day, in which case any game would become boring eventually).
Graphics are easy on the eyes, champions are easy to distinguish and look very nice. The champions are also pretty well balanced, considering it can't all be perfect and it's a game where teamplay trumps individual skill, there shouldn't be much of a problem with any champion or team of champions being overpowered.
Heartily recommend this, i do.

League of Legends, Battlefield Heroes, and that one flash game that's like a stick figure arena or something. Deathmatch with awesome weapons and stick figures.

osu! Is really fun, although, difficult at first. It's a point and click music game which really challenges your speed and hand eye coordination. But there are plenty more games that are better however.

smearyllama, you get a cookie for mentioning that awesome game:

Seriously, this game is great folks. You should play it RIGHT NAOW!!!

OT: The best free game I have played is probably Cave Story. Twas' for the PC and was a sides-scrolling metriodvania type game with awesome old school graphics and music. It played beautifully, and had an excellent story to boot! Download it now!
