Next door is a buy to let and the garden wall runs down to an old railway line. The landlord does fuck all maintenance and the wall is at the point of collapse due to ivy growing through it. It's taken 5 years to chisel some money out of him to get the wall done. He finally pays up after I spent all my ready cash, so it down to me now.

Let's see, what did I buy recently...

Oh right, this thing [http://www.kirinhobby.com/shop/images/TY13/NE0009907_01.jpg]. Well, it's on pre-order, so I'll get it in about a month maybe. I think it'll pay off because I do have a class-2 rating after all.

Maybe the refurb monitor arm I snagged for my Yiynova tablet? If I'd made any sort of effort to actually install the thing, given my less than stellar desk situation anyway- so probably not...this has reminded me that I need to do that and also that I'm currently using the box as a foot rest.
Ooh. What brand/model monitor arm did you get?

My best purchases would have to be a small fan to help cool my bedroom & a cheap HDD enclosure so I can reuse an old hard drive to double my 360s storage.

Oh & picking up the AC: Ezio Collection on Amazon for $20 was pretty sweet too.

SHUT UP I DON'T HAVE ANY ON MY DESK
I...I went through one of those 10 pack boxes, the big ones, in under two weeks. I have a problem.

You, uh- *scratches chest region of Spice and Wolf print shirt* -You wouldn't happen to have any, would you man? I- I just need a bit of a fix until the next shipment comes in. Just two sticks, man. Just two sticks.

I...I got these cheeseburgers, maaaan.[footnote]Points, in the form of juice, if ya get the reference.[/footnote]

OP: My PS4 because of Bloodborne and several fighting games. I would be a sad sack if I still hadn't played Bloodborne by now. Then again, I'm a sad sack most of the time anyways. :c
Been meaning to pick one of those up. I should do that soon. Amazon payment plan service thingy, don't fail me now.

Ahhh, here we are.

Looked into a lot of 'em before purchasing and this seemed like the best possible option. The refurb didn't come with a manual, but a quick stop by HP's site gives ya a handy PDF. Otherwise, it was packaged securely and seems completely legit, which follows since the company is a certified HP refurb/reseller.

Ooh, very nice. That's an HP-branded Ergotron LX with the shorter mounting pole. I have an LX and a 3M-branded Ergotron (plus one of the cheapest Ergotron arms, the Neo-flex). I've had all three for about 4 years now and none of my monitors have budged at all since installing. One I installed using the clamp, the other I drilled directly into my desk.

I saw a guy on Amazon had pictures of when he mounted a Wacom Cintiq to an LX arm, and because the head that connects to the monitor can swing upwards a great deal, he was able to bring it down almost completely to his desk and draw on it as a tablet. I would say you could do the same, only you should be careful of any cables connected in the back as they might cinch if you bring it down to your desk.

I'd say you made a great purchase.

Yup yup.

It was one of the cheapest ways to get an Ergotron quality (because that's what it is) mount, from what I could find. The primary problem is figuring out where exactly to place it.

I grabbed one of those cheap walmart tiered computer desks on short notice after moving a year or two back. I'll probably have to spring for an L/corner desk some time soon, as this one's pretty limiting space wise. That, or I may just make it work somehow, but the section I can actually place the mount on is a good half foot above the main desk proper and I'm not sure how far this thing will tilt downwards.

I got a flintlock pistol model thing and a stand for $15. I was originally gonna get it for a Bloodborne cosplay that I wanted to try out, and I still kinda do, but the more I thought about it, the happier that I was that I bought it just as a thing to have. It's kinda cool. I still look at it and tell myself that I'm glad that I got it.

Castrol Synthetic. I had to change the oil in my car. Besides that, a new mouse. The scroll broke on my old one.

Oh okay. My desk is sort of like that. Both my Ergotrons are mounted on a platform that's 5.75 inches above the main desk top.

I have one arm locked in at a spot 3 inches up from the base of the pole, so I could go even lower. The lowest position the arm can currently get to leaves the bottom edge of my monitor 2.5 inches from the desk top (my monitors are 14.5" tall). This means that if I slid the arm to its lowest position on the mounting pole, the bottom of my monitor could go lower than the desk top.

Meanwhile, the arm is stretched out a foot away from the base and it could swing away even further but I gathered up my cables to cut down on the clutter. I found some unused APC battery backup power cord extensions at work that were about 10 feet long, so I used those to power my monitors. This [http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-12-Feet-Female-Replacement-Power/dp/B00004Z5KA/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1434039153&sr=8-8&keywords=pc+power+cord] is basically the same thing. Unfortunately it's hard to find quality power cables so I was lucky that the ones I grabbed from the trash were meant to handle huge, rack mount battery backups.

I guess that would be the Forever Ablum by Mystery Skull.

Ok to be fair, I only liked a couple of of the album songs but since it is in my music library, it's part of my music collection forever (until I died of course).

New video card.

-No more code crashes in FF14
-Lower sound profile=less sound pollution in room
-Came with Witcher 3 (Amazing game) and the new Batman (Which I hope will be amazing)

In a close second is my first SSD, which I got last weekend (I told myself I'd hold off until Win10 dropped, and since I have the 'reservation' now, I thought it would be a good time).

You don't really think about how long it takes to load windows, or the world map in a game like Witcher III, until you cut that load time down from over a minute to faster then you can blink.

New shock mounts for my bike.

Now it doesn't sound like a bag of spanners being thrown down the stairs.

Are you planning on junking your car within the next 3 yrs? I've never had a set of summer tires that lasted more than 3 seasons.

Surface Pro 2, used to do a lot of my art on paper then move it to my desktop with my Cintiq 12WX. Got the SP2, stopped buggering around with paper, do all my art on the device. Lot less issues with storing supplies and old books for one, let's me do art anywhere. It's been helping with my business too...since I'm the artist there, amongst other things.

Also it plays lots of games so productivity be damned, Sonic Generations, Skyrim anywhere I go. :|

Thing is I only found out about it while my brother was buying an office chair, saw it, played with it and went review crazy till I caved and got it. So, hooray random chance I guess.

I think you'll find this video interesting. She's in almost the exact same situation as you, only hers is on her desk top, as low as it will go. Notice how she also has an HP arm.

It seems clear to me that I miscalculated where you should mount the arm. It definitely belongs mounted on your desk top, not that little shelf.
