Fair enough. It's all about personal taste and what makes you feel good.Furburt said:I have tried pretty much every type of alcoholic drink there is, and the only one I can stand is rum, and then just barely.escapistraptor said:If taste is the main thing holding you back (which I'm sure it isn't), you just need to try a variety of alcohol. Guinness does taste like paint stripper, and while lagers are really popular here in America I think they taste like shit. I prefer wheat ales for my beer, and cordials like Bailey's, Kahlua, Grand Mariner, Amaretto, etc. for my liqueur. Nothing is better then finding an alcoholic drink that actually fits YOUR tastebuds.Furburt said:I can sort of get the attraction, but I have better things to abuse. Something that doesn't taste like paint stripper to me.

For Patrick's Day I'll be locking my doors and staying inside with food rations until the madness passes.
Oooh, quoted for truth...Vondrakenhof said:In Ireland drink is a big deal for 3 reasons:
1. Drink is part of our heritage. (Which bites).
2. There is nothing to do in this country that doesn't involve drink or sport. (Which bites more).
3. In this day and age being pleasantly drunk (key word: pleasently) is better than being sober.
Yeah, this sums it up well enough. When you're intoxicated, you let your barriers down making it easier to be more open and socialize with complete strangers. In other words, people are so insecure and lazy they need to drug themselves in order to have a good time/ get along with others.Frequen-Z said:Cos being drunk alters your personality, that's the whole idea, having your enlightened bubbly happy personality and being around others who are the same. You do things you normally wouldn't, have a laugh, take loads of photos, and have fun regaining your memories over the next few days.
