I'm not being funny but most of you guys seem to like games on the PC because you can change them. That seems a really weak reason to prefer a Pc
Modding can extend a games shelf life by years. That's not to be underestimated. How many games to you buy in a year that you play for a month and then drop? The amount of money you could save by playing your favorite PC game as it is modded and modded again might even save you more money than your PC cost in the first place.

Pc gaming can be good but It had numerous flaws.

1. Graphics issues: You need to fork out nearly 3 times as much to play PC games at the highest level than you would with a console
Not really. If you need a PC to do other things, and most people do, then you would have to spend several hundred on the basic model. So you only need to spend a few hundred more on a video card, RAM, etc. to make the basic model into a pretty good gaming computer.

2. Friends: Pc gaming is no good If you have mates over.
This one is true, but it is also easier to play PC games over the internet.

3.Pc gamers general attitude: No offence you guys can be complete and utter cocks and you don't like playing with new players......At all
And your attitude is any better? Seriously.

Console flamewars are legendary, so attacking PC gamers for attitude is a joke.

4.Pc games can be very weird: What do I mean by this. They can crash for no reason whatsoever or they can work fine and then decide they want to make you cry.
How many people have had to deal with the Red Ring of Death?

That and I can just alt+tab out from a game when I'm supposed to do work.
This.

Being able to procrastinate while working is the best / worst thing about PC gaming.

I prefer the mouse/keyboard interface to analogue stick. Its a personal preference, but i think it makes a big difference, especially in FPSs.

I'm not huge into PC gaming, but that's my main reason.

For me, it's quite a few things.

Convenience.
image quality
mods
better controls
did I mention mods?
Steam
Easy to record footage for youtube
Modsmodsmodsmodsmodsmodsmodsmodsmods
I don't have to buy a new machine every few years, merely upgrade the one I have
I can build my own machine
It's reliable
Backwards compatibility with older titles is guaranteed
I can do way more with a PC than I can a console
Multiplayer is free
I have games like Garry's Mod and Minecraft
Driving/flying sims run better
More mods!
Oh and I can still use console controllers if I want. I have a 360 pad for driving/flying centric games
Almost everything here except "I can build my own machine" because I'm dumb and can't ^^

Hmmm this is a good point and mods are fun. But liking PC gaming for that one reason seems abit silly to me.

That is true but If we are talking PC's for just pure gaming (and I mean better than console gaming) we are talking alot of cash. I know I have looked. Although I still want one.....And if I'm honest If I could justify the money I would spend on the pc I know I would become a PC gamer and although I would love to I know I can't.

Although this is a HUGE problem I can always send my Xbox off for a nice holiday. When a game stops working on my pc I end having to go searching the forums myself and that can take a lonngggg time and 100% of the time If I put the disc in my XBOX it's going to work and I dont need to worry about It could I say the same about my pc games ?

And your attitude is any better? Seriously.

Console flamewars are legendary, so attacking PC gamers for attitude is a joke.
I skipped this problem by only playing with people I know. And this opinion is from wow so maybe a bit bias. There is only so many times I can be called a noob before someone gets a fork In the eye

I spent 3,000 dollars on a high end gaming computer that was used for playing games on max graphics, now it's just used for facebook, boostcruising, escapist and redtube..

But OT, i prefer PC due to mods, and the ability to not need to change a disk every time i want to play a new game.

Besides that PC games were what I was brought up on, I can play a wider range of games on the PC, with better graphics. A lot of the franchises that the consoles know today came from the PC to start with.

I can upgrade my PC for a lot longer without having to buy all new hardware every time I want to change something. Also being an open platform there is a lot more hardware to choose from, as opposed to consoles which are just crapped out of a factory being exactly the same.

Mods, lots and lots of mods. For lots and lots of games, and in most cases the developers now provide the tools with which to mod their games. How many console games allow that?

-Comfy chair

-Mouse and keyboard

-Mods that do more then let you cheat and get banned (so very much more)

-Better indie scene

-The inner graphics whore within me squeals in utter delight

-Massive back catalog

-Steam (your mileage may vary)

-Several excellent exclusives

-Emulators (my PS1 emulator is PERFECTLY LEGAL, thankyouverymuch)

-Internet browser if I get bored

-Easier to record footage on

-I already have one (I don't have a console, except an old PS1 I just use my emulator for)

-Simple to upgrade

That good enough for you? I'm sure a console fan can make another list just as long as this for their favorite console, but it's hard to overcome the excellent modding scene.

I have just gotten into PC gaming, but I can't really say it is superior to Console gaming. Everyone I know says it is more accurate for shooters(which I play mostly), but I can't really tell the differce. The addition of mods is a huge plus for some games though.
Give it time, man . . . slowly improve your usage skills with a mouse and keyboard, and slowly tighten the sensitivity settings. Invest into a dedicated gaming keyboard (i.e. Ideazon mercSTEALTH keyboard [http://shop.steelseries.com/index.php/keyboards/merctm-stealth-illuminated-gaming-keyboard.html]) and gaming mouse (i.e. Razer DeathAdder mouse [http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169416100/categoryId.35208800]), and continue to hone your sensitivity levels. you'll find your reaction times will greatly improve, and so will your accuracy.

I'm not going to stomp on gamepads, they have their place - but, their downfall is that they're either fast, or precise . . . but are never both at the same time. Just to drive this point home => feats such as this: MW2 Pit runthrough [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVTXK8NRy4s&feature=related] can only be accomplished with a keyboard and mouse. Sadly, such skills are usually dismissed immediately as hax or cheatz by the console community . . . but if you've ever played an online match with such players, you'd think otherwise.

Sure, gaming is all about fun - and playing in a way that's fun for you . . . some of us prefer to challenge ourselves to improve our game, some of us are content to just play.

OT - there's numerous reasons I prefer PC gaming over console . . . but, I think one of the biggest things I prefer, in regards to multiplayer, is the PC community just seems so much more mature. I don't see the same level of childishness in MP games, very little name calling, more team orientation and comraderie, - players seem to function more as a team instead of every man for himself. Plus, we've got additional 3rd party anti-cheat apps that keep problems rather non-existant. Games can have their glitches patched out . . . and let's not forget dedicated servers :D

Otherwise, I prefer the better visuals with a PC. I prefer the flexibility of the system, it's ability to handle numerous tasks at once. Games are cheaper, even more-so if you're willing to wait a few months after release.

Well, just look at what Valve did to the PC version of Team Fortress 2 to get a glimpse of the benefits for being a PC gamer.

If you want to start being a PC gamer, then let me say this now:You need dedication.

I like strategy games a lot, so a PC is more important in gaming terms than a console to me.

Tbh this argument is pointless anyway. At the end of the day If you have done one for a long time you will prefer that one.

Barring a few exclusive games, what does a console have to offer me that I can't get on a pc?

It's more work to get everythign going on a pc but you get more fo a reward too.
damn right! plus If you really cant get oyur head around mouse and keyboard then get a gamepad, thats what I did for assins creed PLUS if you have a laptop theres portability which is awsome!

im not trying to bash consoles here I can see the benifits, what ever works you know?

PCs offer better graphics, and many pc games are too advanced to run effectively on a console such as the total war games, or crysis, or the real crysis 2. Honestly, overall I like the controller setup better than the mouse and keyboard, but for an RTS player, pc is the only way to go.

Steam sales all the way! I seriously haven't payed full price for a game in about a year. Most of my games were purchases from 50%-75% off the already reduced PC price (when compared to consoles). Of course, all of the games I got were about a year old which is fine so long as you haven't experienced them yet.
