Whats the deal with all the MW2 hate threads?

I don't get why everyone hates it so much? i mean sure it's not perfect, MW1 was better, but that doesn't automatically make it a bad game.

I have a lot of fun with this game. I think it's very well made, the length sucks a big fat hairy cock. but i still love it.
I don't know it's my opinion. I'm not trying to force my opinion on everyone else if you thought I was.But I want to hear escapist's opinion of MW2.

Oh god, can we not just drop the subject?

The people who hate it mostly hate it because for some reason they bought it on PC, knowing that it had no dedicated servers and now it's apparently pointless playing online multiplayer due to hackers etc.
Everyone else, who bought it on a console, seems to love it, or at least admit that it's a pretty good game, if nothing particularly new, including me.

The lesson here is that people abhor a vacuum. In this case: A vacuum of whining.
If they aren't whining about DRM, or EA, then what can they whine about?
So it used to be Halo, now it's Modern Warfare 2. In a few months it'll be something else.
Just shrug it off and enjoy the game.
I know IW is shrugging it off and enjoying the millions of dollars from millions of sales.

to be honest, I didn't want to do this seeing that there's too much MW2 threads, but when I hear people making fun of the game for the worst of reasons on the planet I try to step in. I'm not a fan boy though, where I defend the game for every flaw it makes, If their argument makes sense and doesn't just nit pick at everything I am ok with them. But seeing the game bashed so much for the worst of reasons every second, I just feel it's right to defend it then against those accusations.

MW2 is like buying a brand new porsche with fake tires. You can't, in no way, detect if the tires are fake. So, you buy the porsche only to realize that all your tires have fallen off. You go back to the dealer to give you your money back, but he says "No refunds'.

Shrugging it off when you've got something that doesn't work isn't really the way to go.

This is the internet everyone, "I hate it" is just another way of saying "I enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would".


I personally don't hate the game, but it did dissapoint. The story is complete and utter shit, and the cinematic cutscenes are over the top. Gameplay is fantastic and just as good as the first though.

It's very disjointed. At no point in the game I had any idea why I was in the place I was. It just seemed like the developers wanted to send me all over the world for the "cool factor", so they came up with weak, almost non-existing links between all the places that no one except they themselves could understand. Oh, and the ending......... I can't begin to say how unbelievably stupid the ending is.

Shepard decides to launch a full scale attack on the US and kill literally millions of people just to boost his ego? What. The. Fuck.

Also, why did he kill Roach? He just gave himself away for no apparent reason at all. He already had the laptop he wanted and no one was suspecting him of treason, but literally for no explained reason at all he decides to burn one of the good guys so the other good guys can go "oh crap! he is the one!!".

Give me a break.

hahahahahaahahahahah! Kids from the 80s were the ME generation, the 90s were the slackers, the 00s(naughts) should be the Crybaby generation. This screenshot is a good case in point.

I personally have no interest in CoD:MW or CoD:MW2 even though I liked CoD3 and CoD:WaW. I was totally blown away at the sales numbers that this game had on release week. And as you said, Infinity Ward could care less that people are crying on the web about their new CASH COW. I say kudos to IW for a successful game launch, they made the record books with this one.
