What's the dumbest game that you've played?

I was playing the demo for Operation Darkness today, and I couldn't help but notice how unrelentingly retarded the storyline was. I mean really, you fight Hitler's entire regime with 8 people. Oh, did I mention that Hitler's regime is comprised of Nazis, zombies, and vampires. A similar stunt was pulled off in Castle Wolfenstein, but the catch in this was that your team is made of anime characters that can only shoot up to about 10 meters in front of them (this is the maximum range for the sniper, by the way). So that got me wondering about retarded games that I've played over the years.

Can I make a list here?

First off, most of the Naruto games released for the PS2. The second Umazaki Chronicals was OKAY but other than that the games grew very repetitive and I quickly became 'That Guy' (or that girl) while doing verses with friends because I seem to have a gift with button mashers, which takes the fun out of everything because my not so gaming buddies get to resent me.

The Hobbit had me pretty mad too, seeing as the game seemed to have some sort of lag on it when I played. I'd press a button and it would take about five seconds to think about it before doing it, and in situations where timing was pertinate, and there were a lot of those, you were royally screwed. On the other hand maybe I should learn that almost all games created off of things that already exist tend to suck. We just wish they'd suck on something poisonus.

The WORST game I think I've ever exposed myself to was a remake of lemmings. It left the old 2D world for a 3D rotating collom with more tricks and traps than ever before. Most people would love this type of challange but with multipul release points and all lemmings needing almost constant attention, even when you can't see them, I get more annoyed than impressed with the new graphics and puzzles.

One of the worst games I've ever played was Red Faction 2.

Okay, maybe that's treating it a little harshly, but it was such a letdown from Red Faction 1. The original storyline of a mining rebellion mysteriously vanished (and it was a more original than most story, shame to lose it), being replaced with some... thing. The nifty if a bit gamebreaking Geo-Mod gameplay was cut so heavily that it was painful to look at. Instead of being able to blast your way through any wall, floor, or ceiling, you were reduced to only being able to blow away very specific chunks of wall, almost guaranteeing that any hole opened was a 'secret'.

Honorable mention goes to I Wanna Be The Guy: not because it's bad, but because no other game has ever come close to making me curse and swear that I'll never play it again, yet I keep coming back.

Probably Wolfenstein 3D and by extension early FPS titles. Absolutely no thinking involved.

Did you just compare today's strategy based FPS to the first FPSs ever made? And then deride said older FPS because it required no thinking, MISSING the fact they didn't have such space for proper coding of tactical elements?
Did I? I was just saying the early FPS games were mindless fun, that's all.

The worst game I have ever played was E.T. for the Atari. I loved the movie as a kid and still like it, but that Atari game totally sucked. My wife could actually figue it out and play it but I couldn't figure it out as a kid and still can't. I'm probably one of the few people who still have it but I don't play it at all. There are plenty of dumb games but this one still takes the cake.

My Hero (Sega Master System). Generic "Girlfriend gets kidnapped, go beat the shit out of everyone" story (not that I'm expecting any deep, compelling story out of a Sega Master System game, I just thought that was worth mentioning, as it is, in retrospect, utterly cheesy), REALLY stupid sound effects and repetitive, REALLY stupid music. And everyone (including you) dies in one hit. I think there's a video on YouTube of it for anyone who wants to behold an insane amount of stupidity.

Frogger 2

Original frogger = awesome
the first remake = awesome
the sequel to the first remake = childish lame-ass shit.

It was fun, but the fmv sequences, and new characters were ridiculous, poorly put together, and, just bad.

come one, they took the old pink frog (the one that if you picked up and finished with, acquired you an extra life) made her a main character, and gave her blue fucking pigtails and a back-pack. WHY?! WHHYY!?!

basically by trying to apply a story to the game, it was retarded. The old graphic of a frog running across the street with a tie and suitcase was enough story for me.

nope it's my turn to defend halo

with a game so hyped as the halo series no mater the quality of the game it is impossible to live up to the hype. but I find with games like this that the only people who are disappointed are those who want to be and it seems that now making fun of halo is the "cool" thing to do because it makes you different... or he disliked the game for legitimate reasons ( I like to give people the benefit of the doubt)

and as for the stupidest game Id have to say mobile suit gundam crossfire

State of Emergency.

Because the best way to liberate a city from a fascist government is to walk to into a mall and shoot anything that moves.

Dead Rising. It seems like every aspect of the game is designed to get in the way of me killing zombies. The psycho mini bosses like the now infamous convicts in the jeep, Otis calling you over the radio every ten seconds, taking pictures to level up, and the whole thing being on a timer really annoyed the hell out of me. I just wanted to kill zombies.
