Anyway, it was Queen's Greatest Hits I and II, which I still love. I may be a metalhead, but everyone [sub][sub]except Furburt because he has no sense of fun[/sub][/sub] loves Queen.

The first metal album I bought was Death Magnetic by Metallica. Fuck the haters, it's an awesome album. Everyone loved it when it came out, but then they remembered it's "cool" to hate Metallica. Go fornicate yourselves with a wrench, posers. D<
People hate death magnetic? Huh, I always thought it was pretty well liked.
It sold a fuck-ton anyway.

Alice in Chains's "Dirt". "Angry Chair" still plays in a loop when ever I think about it.

By critics, yeah. But the posers and idiots who go on and on about Metallica "selling out", and then they make a killer thrash album and people complain MOAR!

That I bought myself? I think it was Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory. Quiet you.
Their best album IMO.
This is true. Meteora wasn't bad either, but everything else (especially that monstrosity they did with Jay-Z) has been pretty crap, although I don't have the same hate for New Divide as a lot of their more diehard fans.

Seether - Karma and Effect. This was like 5 years ago... Since then, I've only bought about 50 albums.

I liked Meteora, and that thing with Jay-Z actually got me into them (I have a questionable musical history), but I really did not like Minutes to Midnight at all.

I can kinda understand people getting annoyed at Metallica changing their style. Well, at least I could when it came out, but their new music is hardly bad.
One problem I had with Death Magnetic is that while listening to one to two songs at a time it's great, when I listen to the entire CD the songs start blurring into each other.

That's a great album. Disclaimer was better though IMO.

The first album I actually bought was System of a Down's debut album. I still listen to it every now and then to this day. I affected my taste in that I no longer wanted music that flowed. The album is erratic and no song compliments the other. Now I have a lot of album like that. For instance I like Primus for that quality

Well, I'm not sure that I've ever expressly told my parents to buy an album for me when I was younger, so I guess that my first album I've ever bought is also the only album I've ever bought... (recovering music-pirate)

Anyhoo, my first was Folie à Deux by Fall Out Boy. I thought that enough (read: all) of the songs were good, which justified a purchase. Even though I had already downloaded the entire album to my computer.

"All Killa, No Filla" by Sum41 is the first album I bought with my own money.
