I searched for it online, but my first purchase, not one I was gifted with was...

Transformers: The Movie sound track, with gems like "The Touch" and "Dare" by Stan Bush, you know it's a hit album!

I don't recall, to be honest. I know the first CD I ever bought was AC/DC Razor's Edge, but I'm old enough that I owned tapes before that...I just don't remember what they were anymore. I was probably 11 or 12 when I bought that AC/DC CD.

I still have my Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack in cassette form(plus the original release on VHS). Ah, good ole' rewind/fast forward.

Them Crooked Vultures by Them Crooked Vultures. Great album I just hope they make at least one more
They're already making their second. Should be out at the end of this year or early next year apparently. It was either Josh or JPJ that said that, I think.

And my first album was Gorillaz debut album, which I still love. It's way better than Plastic Beach.

It was a Megadeth greatest hits.

I got it because the library had very little metal, although it's great for rock.

I was and am 14.

Metallica - Master of Puppets

Was going to get ReLoad, but it was sold out, so I got Master instead.

Well, I'm not sure that I've ever expressly told my parents to buy an album for me when I was younger, so I guess that my first album I've ever bought is also the only album I've ever bought... (recovering music-pirate)

Anyhoo, my first was Folie à Deux by Fall Out Boy. I thought that enough (read: all) of the songs were good, which justified a purchase. Even though I had already downloaded the entire album to my computer.
You scum! (Nothing personal)

OT: Hm, the first album I bought is probably "How to dismantle an atomic bomb" by U2. Good times.

I think the first album I bought on my own was Powerage by AC/DC. I still listen to it from time to time.

Soundgarden--Down on the Upside. I bought the cassette, and I have no idea how old I was.

That was the first one I ever bought. The first one I ever owned was the Lion King soundtrack. My parents gave it to me for my birthday when I was a kid. Cool, I know.

We can't be blamed for decisions we made in our younger years... I might have a Limp Bizkit album somewhere in my collection. I'm not proud of it, but at the time it seamed like a good idea.

Gimme a break! I was 11 or 12 and had NO music taste!
