Well, I'm not sure that I've ever expressly told my parents to buy an album for me when I was younger, so I guess that my first album I've ever bought is also the only album I've ever bought... (recovering music-pirate)

Anyhoo, my first was Folie à Deux by Fall Out Boy. I thought that enough (read: all) of the songs were good, which justified a purchase. Even though I had already downloaded the entire album to my computer.
You scum! (Nothing personal)

OT: Hm, the first album I bought is probably "How to dismantle an atomic bomb" by U2. Good times.
Oh my god, I can't get it out of my head!

Although it's kinda embarrassing, the first album I ever bought was the Pokemon 2BA Master soundtrack (but I was only about 7 or 8 at the time, that makes it ok ... right?).
But the first REAL album I bought was JET's 'Get Born'. A classic Aussie album in my opinion and changed many of my views about music and also made me start learning to play the guitar.

So what was your first album and how has it effected you now?
Limp Bizkit - Three Dollar Bill Y'all
Why... what was I thinking? -.-

Back in the days before everyone had a CD rewriter, my mates dad used to copy us CDs with a photocopied cover for £3 each...

First ones I got were Limp Bizkit's "Chocolate Starfish..." and Papa Roach's "Infest". (Don't judge me, I was about 10). First real album I bought for myself was Linkin Park's "Meteora", which came out when I was 14 and was paid for with paper round money.

Fortunately my taste in music has matured somewhat since then. (Hopes no-one notices the Ministry Of Sound avatar).

Generic incorrect forum comment.

Anyway, it was Queen's Greatest Hits I and II, which I still love. I may be a metalhead, but everyone [sub][sub]except Furburt because he has no sense of fun[/sub][/sub] loves Queen.

The first metal album I bought was Death Magnetic by Metallica. Fuck the haters, it's an awesome album. Everyone loved it when it came out, but then they remembered it's "cool" to hate Metallica. Go fornicate yourselves with a wrench, posers. D<
I also have never been a great fan of Queen. I respect them (like i respect the Beatles, but I'm not a fan of ther music. I realize without them I wouldn't have half the bands i listen to, but the only song i could get into was "I'm in love with my Car.
Also... I'd hardly call Metallica metal, especially these days. They're more thrash than anything.

That I bought myself? I think it was Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory. Quiet you.
Their best album, and still a blast to listen to. No shame in liking it.

I think my very first album (I bought with my own money) was Eminem's 'Marshall Mathers LP'. Even though I'm mostly into Rock, Metal and Swing these days, some of Eminem's songs (and videos) still crack me up today, especially 'Without Me'.
