Ylou know, I bought FO:NV Over steam and barring one BSoD (I've only been playing for 15 hours ... so not sure how accurate it is to say this or whether it's just luck and saying it will cause all sorts of problems) my experience with th egame has been fairly sound.

Minus a seeming Deathclaw spawn right behind me .... yep .... painful ...

I was crouched and moving silently because I was *sure* there was something beyond the next crest...

All was green, no detection warning ... then BAM!! 3rd person zoom out with a deathclaw straddling my extracted spine. Much cursing ensued ...

Fallout New Vegas.

Really fun game if you can avoid the glitches, but it makes me bite my fingers off whenever I start a new playthough only to be unable to level up past 1.

Oh, and don't ask you companions to wait for you in Lucky 38, they tend to disappear...

Why has no one mentioned Big Rigs?..

It's scary how buggy that game was..
I was going to say this. I tried this game just to see what all the fuss was about. It was so notorious for it that I had to check it out.

My God. There aren't even any words to describe a game that freezes and crashes every single time you lose. I mean, double-yew tee eff! Did they just not program the game to accept that outcome?

ARMA...fuck, I had to restart the FIRST MISSION because the Humvees got lost in the CUTSCENE! Then I cannot play the Tank training course because the AI just throws me out of the tank when it is time for the commanders training, mocking me by telling me "you are now in the commanders position!" NO I AM NOT, I am standin 20 feet next to the tank, or rub at it´s sides with my body, trying to find a way in!

They ran out of money in the pre-alpha stage.. Yet they still managed to get it distributed and sold.. I find it funny the issues with it to be honest, it's always good for a laugh

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines. I've played glitchier games, but this is the only game that has actively glitched me into anger.

Still like it though.
You referring to the pre-patch Society of Leopold crash bug?
The one that made the game stop at the halfway point?
Anger was an understatement there.

Also Alien vs Predator on the PS3; falling through world boundary on load of the Predator training mission; spearing a marine through an open doorway as a Xenomorph caused a PC-style hardware freeze, full screech at full volume, and level geometry turned invisible on the Marine first mission. That was within the first hour of playtime.

Dear developers; please ensure your games are entertainment, not frustration. Seeing a Triple A title fall apart at the seams is shameful. Why should we pay premium on release for something that is virtually guaranteed to be broken/bugged to hell?

If game journalism was honest and objective; developers that released badly bugged or broken games would be dragged out into the daylight and publicly castigated.
But no, unrealistically high scores and praise for rehashes, so the masses continue to fund the seething shitpile.

Empire: Total War. I didn't even play it a day before giving up due to a combination of bugs that crash the game and coding that makes it unfun.

I haven't played all that many buggy games, so for me it's a tie between Fallout 3 and MW2, both on the 360. Fallout 3 would freeze all the time while I was just wandering around, and a couple of times it would just cause my 360 to make a buzzing noise whenever I tried playing it. MW2 had javelin glitches, care package exploits, and all sorts of other things in the multiplayer.
For me the bugs in these games weren't all that bad, but they're still the buggiest.

Fallout 3 was pretty brutal on my PC (already patched) but then I turned to teh interwebz for help. After manually inserting two lines of code it worked fine. Now I don't have much interest in it anymore after I beat it. I know theres some awesome mods for it, but I just don't have the willpower to mess with them...

Fallout: NV does take the cake here. Or at least it's the glitchiest game I actually bothered to try to work around and finish, since it's a great game behind the glitchy headless raider.

The PC version of Metal Gear Solid 2, Sons of Liberty. If you pressed escape, instead of getting a menu of some kind the game would simply exit. No 'are you sure?' dialog, just straight back to Windows with your progress lost. That's the key which, with nearly every other game, is the key you press to get to the save menu.

+1 for Fallout New Vegas. I love the Mojave wasteland but I can't spend 4 hours there without the world locking up on me.

Was Neverwinter 2 buggy or just technically inadequate? It chugged like a kitten towing a battleship but I don't remember any actual bugs.

Can't remember any bug problems with Saint's Row 2 or Bloodlines either. Two very enjoyable games too - my sympathies for anyone who had them spoiled by tech glitches.

Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening and Fable 3.

Technically, I think Fable 3 had/has more glitches, but, when I played it, I had the good fortune of not encountering anything that was permanent or game breaking. But, when I played DAO:A, I encountered just about every glitch that existed.

Uhhhhhh KotOR I guess. I'm not sure if it's like this for everyone, but mine would always fuck up in terms of lighting: sometimes the sun would go supernova, sometimes the game'd become cell-shaded, other times the character models would become completely black. Other times, the grass would extend 10 yards and start spinning around, almost like it was trying to grab me, and sometimes the game would just freeze. Tame stuff, really.
