I use Smogon, but I find their advice questionable at times.

I gave Forretress Bug Bite because I wanted him to have some sort of STAB attack, and Smogon didn't have anything that fit. Plus, the ability to wipe out Sub(Insert stat-raising berry) builds is awesome.
It just really doesn't seem like it has much of a purpose, while Stealth Rock would help the team more in the long run.

Zap Cannon and Lock-On are remnants from my PvE setup, and Magnezone's insane damage potential makes Shell Bell easily better than Leftovers or any other recovery item.
I could see a Choice Scarf working, but the recovery abilities I've seen Shell Bell possess far outweigh the (usually minor) damage I'll take from anything but a STAB Fire/Fighting move (since Magnet Rise eliminates the worry for Ground, unless the foe has Gravity).
A Shuca Berry might actually work well on Magnezone for an item. I still don't like the Lock-On combo, but if it works, keep using it I guess.

What's your problem with my Blastoise, exactly? His Attack is far superior to his Special Attack, which nullifies the use of 90% of water attacks. I can see your problem with Skull Bash and Iron Defense, but since even Smogon describes Blastoise as
Smogon said:
He usually doesn't hurt much, but then again, he makes sure your team doesn't get hurt either!
The only replacements I can see are Rest/Sleep Talk or replacing Skull Bash with Protect. As for the item, maybe a Life Orb?
Blastiose's SP. Attack is actually the higher of the two. >_>

I have made a really good set for Blastoise that worked really well for me in the past. I'll post it to see if you want to use it.

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Bold Nature
EVs: 252 HP, 222 DEF, 56 SP. ATK
~ Rapid Spin
~ Surf
~ Hidden Power (Fire) (Works great against Scizor and Forretress)
~ Yawn (Force Switches)

My Flygon build is straight from Smogon's mixed sweeper build for him.
That's just personal preference I suppose. I like accuracy > Power.

I'm not trying to debase your advice, because I know it's all warranted, but I like to explain my reasoning to more seasoned players and get their thoughts. In my experience, end-game players are usually reluctant to try new strategies because the old ones are reliable. Not saying you are, but it's my experience.
That is fair, and happens quite a lot. I like seeing new strategies, I mean, I use Pinsir in the OU with great success. I'm just questioning how well they would work.

I'm not an idiot, I have the site, and can examine their advice without prompting from you.
Well since you know all about smogon. You would then know that hp gives you a better overall survival rate than either raw defense stat. Also being able to hit, and presumably kill the opponents pokes means you don't get hit at all.

That glaceon's highest speed, with boosting nature and 252 ev's is 251.
While gliscors minimum speed is 203. With a hindering nature. In fact all the pokes he listed in his post out speed glaceon.

The reason that old sets are reliable is that they are good. For example bug type is only super effective against grass, psychic, dark.

Perhaps the reason they list payback on forrestress is to take advantage of his low speed and to help counter spin blockers. Which will help forrestress complete his job of both spinning and stacking easier.

My dream team is probably all Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon AKA Dragonite, Metagross, Tyranitar, Salamance, and Garchomp. Then I might just throw in Lucario because i like him

The first Generation 4 games(Diamond/Pearl/Platinum) brought two new Eeveelutions to the field. Leafeon [http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/deoxysprime/Pokemon/Diamond%20Pearl/dp-leafeon.png] and Glaceon [http://klubpokemon.bblog.pl/i/blog/users/47569/files/Image/glaceon%281%29.png], obviously filling the roles of Grass and Ice bringing the total possibly Eevee types to 8 (Normal, Electric, Fire, Water, Psychic, Dark, Grass, Ice) meaning only 9 more eeveelutions to have every type :D
I want to see what they make you do to get a dragon type evolution for Evee.

I use, i think;

Nidoking
Poliwrath
Tyranitar
Charizard
Aerodactyl
Aggron

Tell me how this team is cause I would like to fight pokemons, but i can't :(
Nidoking may look cool, but he is useless. Switch for a Jolteon perhaps.
Poliwrath is a pretty decent physical water type, Though I'd prefer a Politoed if anything
Tyranitar can be a BRO if used properly. Very hard physical hitter with quite decent defence. It can be a decent starter if you teach it stealth rock.
I wouldn't have a Charizard on my team to be honest, and would likely switch it for a Flygon or Dragonite
I Can't say I've seen Aerodactyl used frequently though it has potential to be a fast, hard hitter.
Now Aggron is a TANK, and it's good to have a tank in your party. You could teach it Toxic.

I use mostly Fire types.....I like the challenge of having a mostly fire team.

Arcanine
Charizard
Typhlosion
Tyranitar
Lucario
Espeon

If I'm feeling frisky I'll sub out Tyranitar or Espeon for my Houndoom, who goes great with my Arcanine for tag battles since they both have flash fire.

there really is no best pokemon team ever as every pokemon has their strengths and weaknesses.

pokemon with lower base stats have better abilities to compensate.
pokemon with higher base stats have bland abilities.

pokemon with many weaknesses have better movepools than pokemon with few weaknesses.

types with many resistances rarely have super effective STAB moves (steel types resist many attacks but steel is a horrible attack type. fighting which has 5 it is super effective against, 4 are not very effective, 1 has no effect; but fighting is weak to flying which is incredibly common).

so creating your team involves balancing out all of these factors and more.

then there is pokemon like jumpluff. I hate jumpluff. it has no useful attack, pitiful stats, weaknesses to really common attacks. I just hate that thing. I played through HG with that thing.

Jumpluff
Sleep Powder
U-turn
Bullet Seed
Giga Drain

it was like all that thing could do was sleep powder then u-turn to a more powerful pokemon (it was my lead/scout). It got the job done (and was quite effective at giving me an advantage. it almost always went first). But it took up so much of my experience, and even with 5-8 levels on top of the wild/trainer pokemon it couldn't do any damage. It's STAB 4x effective giga drain did almost nothing to a quagsire.

at the end my team had no chance against the E4 because Jumpluff took so much exp. I hate that thing.

I need to commission a team from Katie once I finally decide which on would be best, her work is wonderful.

Anyway, I'm not a particularily good compeditive battler, but here's my OU in game battling team for now. (These have been EV trained, but mainly due to laziness they haven't been listed.)

Ninjask - Speed boost - Adamant; Focus Sash.
X-scissor
Swords Dance
Protect
Baton Pass

Yes, Ninjask is considered a n00b's friend, but I make no pretenses. Depending on who the opponent sends out first time, strategies vary. Common taunt users like Aerodactyl or Azelf will see a protect followed by a baton pass, where stealth rock will be met with a swords dance, protect baton pass line up. When done right, not only does Ninjask give an attack and speed boost to my team, but it also manages it without taking damage or fainting.

Machamp - No guard - Adamant; Chesto Berry
Dynamic Punch
Stone Edge
Payback
Rest

My Machamp is one of my favorite mon's to use. Lots of power backed up by some decent bulk. Dynamic Punch is just fun.

Aggron - Jolly - Rock Head; Life Orb
Rock Polish
Head Smash
Aqua Tail
Low Kick

Aggron is the common recipent of Ninjasks boosts. Most of the time, you can be comfortable with +2 speed to get Aggron over the line against regular opponents. The use is simple; Head Smash anthing neutral to it, and splash and kick what isn't. Aggron doesn't live long against Ground or Fightning, hence his bestest friend forever.

Togekiss (Aggron's bestest friend forever) - Modest -Serene Grace; Shell Bell

Thunder Wave
Water Pulse
Air Slash
Aura Sphere

The machine of madness and despair. Scream in frustration as you flinch, suffer paralaysis and hurt yourself while Togekiss laughs herself back to full health!

Vaporeon - Bold - Water Absorb; Leftovers
Wish
Protect
Surf
Ice Beam

The reason Togekiss doesn't get leftovers. Particularily a friend to Ninjask and Machamp thanks to the wish power.

Which, due to how stats work in Pokemon, means that your Charizard has really shitty stats, unless you only started giving it Candies at level 60-70 or something. Seriously, Pokemon raised solely using Rare Candies are only about as strong as a properly raised level 80, IF THAT. Also, one pokemon will not carry you through against real people.

Why yes, yes it would. Was the best 15 bucks I'd ever spent, until I bought StarCraft 2 and decided THAT was the best 15(4) dollars I'd ever spent.
