reason for this thread:

so I just finished this batman comic "Arkham Asylum: Living hell" and I thourght "oh this is cool" when I saw it on a shelf in a used book store

its about a white collar criminal who foolishly pleads insanity to get out of jail....unfortunatly for him, he ends up at Arkham

and it was cool ...but lets just say things got really Fucked up towards the end, alot of it I could handle (like a crazy women who wears the skin of others...or humpty dumpty who took his gradmother apart and put her back together again)

but when our main guy..Warren white after getting cut up a bit gets locked in a freezer room...and then his hair..finger and like his NOSE/face falls off....*shudder* is that how frostbite works? because I owuld have thourght would have passed out before that point...but god

and lets not get startes on the deamon/hell mindfuck

seriously, I thourght I had a reasonable tolerence for thease things..never thourght Id get so wound up over a batman comic for crying out loud

so what about you? preferibly somthing fictional..but yeah

There is this short story about a boy who starts to fancy his sister's barbie doll and having his first ummm experiences with a girl with it. He imagines a relationship with the doll until he starts falling for his sister's Ken doll and questioning if he is in fact gay. There is some imagery that will definitely stick with you and one particular scene that I would probably be banned for explaining. So yeah you should read it 0___o

I recently read Berserk again.

And while I know what to expect after having read it multiple times, the shocking images still make quite the impact. Especially the "Demon Dogs" and "Tower of Conviction" chapters.

I saw this gif of a large cgi anaconda devouring a cgi woman dressing in a bunny suit.
The woman was in a lying down postion and her legs were in the split postion as the snake about to swallow her. As the snake gobble her up, her legs were bent even more so that her feet were touching her head.

Yes this was cgi (the fake kind) so it wasn't real but I don' know why I find that gif distressing.

As far as games go it would be Defcon. Although it's very simplistic, nuking city after city wasn't a very pleasant experience (music didn't help, either). I actually had to force myself to play through the tutorial level. Haven't touched the game since.

I also started reading Kago Shintaro's stuff a while back and and even though his manga are often quite hilarious, some of his stuff is pretty fucked up.

A King of the Hill youtube Poop.
At first it was really funny to me, but then as I re-watched it, my perception of reality began to sway and modify itself in unpleasant ways. Time was odd. Conversations didn't quite feel right. Actions seemed like they were looping or skipping. Colors were off.
So I had to watch some technically sound pro wrestling to make it stop.
Thanks Black Terry!

Wow, that's disturbing too...

Not disturbing so much as scary(ish). I recently finished reading a book all about ghosts, poltergeists and all that jazz. My problem is that I am overly pranoid and have an over active imagination. Needless to say I end up with a few days of not much sleep. I know this will happen but I read the books anyway. Curse that stuff being so fascinating >.>

Frostbite doesn't work that way. If you were locked in a freezer you'd die of hypothermia well before frostbite got your fingers, nose and ears. Frostbite is basically the flesh getting so cold it dies, but it takes a few days for it to turn black and fall off. The only saving grace is that if it's that cold you can't feel it anyway.

The last two things that disturbed me;

Flicking around channels the other night and came across Michael Moore's Farenheit 9/11. (I like his stuff although it commits some of the same propaganda crimes it claims to expose). I'd never seen it so started watching. Fairly light-hearted then shows bomb victims and a man holding a dead 2-3 yearold and asking why. Grim stuff.

In fiction it was "In Bruges". A kid dies pointlessly in the film (not pointless to the film plot, I mean he's an accidental bystander) and it just gets to me every time I think about it. It makes perfect sense in the film and it's a fantastic film, but I hate seeing stuff about dead kids.

I recently found the Brazen Bull in Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

I also turned on the fire underneath it.

Did not see that one coming.

Not many things creep me out, but a couple things have recently, one kinda funny the other not so much.

I was in the store not to long ago looking for a toy for one of the little kids in the family, when i walked by a small Care Bear stuffed animal, the box said it laughed, so i tried it out.......... This demonic thing had one of those evil little childrens laughs that you would hear in horror movies, still creeps me out to this day.

The other thing that really disturbed me happend very recently. A cousin of mine, one that i was not very close too, but still family, passed away in November. His family decided to have him cremated & thats fine I have no problems with that, but then they spilt his ashes up between his parents & siblings.... thats what bothered me, I have no problem with speading ashes & all that good stuff, but they said the each wanted a piece of him & that really bugged me.

Maybe its normal I don't know, but its odd to me...

That's the bit that disturbed you? I mean, don't get me wrong, that's a pretty grim plot point, and as someone who can't even bear to hear a child in distress it was hardly sunshine and lollipops, but the whole 3rd act was just . . . wow. Not very nice at all. But I agree, decent film, and some of the darkest humour I've seen in a while.

Anyway, for me, the most recent thing was in the novel American Gods by Neil Gaiman, which I just finished reading yesterday. Relatively early on, a man has sex with a Goddess and she ingests him via her vagina. Very odd moment.

I'm a part of the BJD hobby/obsession and was recently shown a picture of a faceup (aka painted makeup/eyelashes/etc) on a doll that made me want to hide from my computer screen. Mind you, I've seen everything from creepy to fugly to beautiful to cute to WTF in the doll world. This one took the disturbed-to-my-core cake. The head sculpt I am actually familiar with and is usually either beautiful or very handsome, so that made it much worse because it was like a terrible nightmare + ultimate derpiness combined. The worst part? It was obvious the person who painted it HAD SERIOUS SKILLS. It was almost like the winner of the "make this face as awful as you can" contest... except it was posted as a legitimate faceup. x_x

I watched a documentary called 'The 74 Stone Babysitter' - or rather I walked in on someone else watching it.

That was mindbogglingly sickening. I literally couldn't watch it.

I have a son and that whole thought that he'd be accidentally killed was just awful. It instantly makes Colin Farrel a kind of monster but one you can sympathise with. I suppose it's show my fear, making a terrible irreversible mistake. The rest is violence against adults, sometimes innoccent adults but somehow that doesn't worry me so much.

It's actually a very common theme in native folklore around the globe. Vaginal teeth and the consuming of men by a woman's vagina. There's lots of theories but I have no idea why that would be such a common theme.

I had a dream the other day about some strange flesh slugs/snails that lived in our pond. I'll describe them here in hope of some free freudian analysis. (its about fleshy snails so it shouldnt be that hard)

They where at leest a meter high and consisted completely of some kind of flesh tubes including their shell. They also had inflatable eyes (they inflated when they dried up). In my dream it had rained a lot the previous day and so they came out of the pond. But now it had stoped raining and they where drying up. Because of this me and my family had to lead them back into the pond.

Now this wasn't a nightmare mind you. I wasn't scared in my dream, but it was distubring for sure.

Well, that's very much why the image appears in the first place, since the theme of the book is how old traditions from old countries are unable to survive in the cultural melting pot of America.

And regarding In Bruges, I can certainly see your point, I suppose. I have occasionally stopped reading books altogether (or at least for long periods of time), when kids start dying.

On that note, another of the most disturbing things I've seen in a while - Torchwood: Children of Earth. That whole thing was just a nightmare. Depressing as hell, too.
