so what about you? preferibly somthing fictional..but yeah
Peter F Hamilton has a habit of throwing something horrendously horrible into relatively lighthearted books.
I'm reading The Temporal Void at the moment, and one particular bit where someone's body gets eaten from the inside by a genetically engineered fungus-bioweapon-virus-thing gave me the creeps. The grim bit? It propagates around the nervous system, discharging electricity into it all the time, while keeping the victim concious. Euch

The Possessed in Night's Dawn were pretty unpleasant too, especially when they got hold of Edenist Habitats. Imagine an entire city transformed the crap that makes up The Thing, and then consuming everyone trapped inside.

EDIT:

My Immortal, the greatest fanfic ever made.

Equal parts disturbing, funny and depressing.
I did wonder if that would appear. And that's reminded me of the Warhammer fanfic "Squad Broken" which is probably the most disgusting thing I've ever read. Was sent it by a friend. Not for the faint of heart.

Most probably a scene from a book called A Storm of Swords from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series.

SPOILERS:
The Red Wedding is what really disturbed me and what they did with Robb and Catelyn's bodies afterward, specifically how they knit Grey Winds head to Robb's after his was cut off...

The only thing I have ever wanted to brain bleach out of my head, like seriously, like I would totally douse myself in something if it would erase this memory, is the Wikipedia article on the movie "The Human Centipede."

Who the hell wants to watch this kind of stuff? It's a sadistic scatological mess. Hell, who actually MAKES this kind of stuff? And there's even a sequel whose entire premise is that some guy was turned on by the first movie!

I don't understand humanity! *froth*

I recently read Berserk again.

And while I know what to expect after having read it multiple times, the shocking images still make quite the impact. Especially the "Demon Dogs" and "Tower of Conviction" chapters.

This as far as fictional content goes.

As far as real world traumatic stories:

Today's mentions include "A few Marines urinate on suspected Taliban corpses", and two stories from earlier last year "Male US military recruit that was from either Eastern Europe/Russia was raped and beaten by men from his barracks who accused him of being a socialist and the drill sergeants/officers that heard about it later told him it was his fault" The second was about those troops who went into an Afghan village and shot unarmed people execution style and tried to plant guns on the bodies to make it look like it was with insurgents.

Being from a military family, those stories hit me in gut the worst possible way and I'm absolutely disgusted beyond rational thought.

Probably the end of the Frank Mir / Minotauro Nogueira fight at UFC 140...

...when Mir broke Nogueira's arm on live television.

Just thinking about it still makes me cringe.

Disturbed, um kinda but changed my opinion of a much loved character. Now yes this may sound stupid but I am talking about the latest episode of Family Guy. Quagmire and MEG

Yeah looking back Quagmire has always been the sex crazed degenorate that lived next door, you saw the roofiecolada sketch and laughed, even the scene in the Cleveland Show where Quagmire asks if he can get his own show and Peter, straight, faced turns to him and says 'Quagmire you're a rapist'. Just laughed it was funny. Even his lusting after Louis was funny but the whole thing with Meg him just point blank refusing to stop pursuing one of his best mates daughter even at the request of his mate.

It was just plain creepy and whilst a funny episode it has changed my opinion of Quagmire.

I accidentally cut my finger while cutting up some carrots. I was bleeding for hours. I thought I was gonna die or lose all my blood or something. I have never been so afraid in my entire life. I'm probably gonna need therapy.

Most would probably consider this stupid, but a band I used to really like released an album that completely changed the way I viewed the singer/songwriter and thus the band. I'd always thought he was a really nice guy.. and I've had the chance to talk with him several times over the years, so it's not just a case of pedestal hero-worshiping gone awry.. and then this came out and the lyrics were just so damned hateful against a particular group of people.

I will still listen to their older albums, but I refuse to listen to the newest one and I won't be buying anymore tickets/merch/future albums. They also no longer get free word-of-mouth advertising from me. Which is why I'm not mentioning the name of the band here. I don't want to be the reason anyone goes and checks them out who may not have already heard them.

For me it was reading the world's shortest horror story.

The last man on earth sat in a room. There was a knock on the door...
It was a woman.

As for me, I was subject to a very graphic comic on the web the other day posted by some troll in which two anime people are canoodling, then the other (a female) fucking FOLDS THE OTHER ONE INTO A GIGANTIC PENIS FOR HERSELF. I read on out of some morbid sense of curiosity to find that later on she starts having people fucking climb inside the urethra. Why? The more disturbing thing is it's probably an established fetish (nothing wrong with that just...*shudders*).

the thought that there are people out there who actually want to watch movies like hostel and the human centipede disturbs me quite frequently, these things or not entertainment, it's a crazy world
perhaps its more about "how far" you can go...as you eventually becoem used to stuff so you want to see how scared you can get
But it's not scary, it's just inhumane torture and it's worthless to have those visions in your mind, so that's what disturbs me about it, is that people want to see other people get tortured, scary movies that are scary don't disturb me

The last thing that disturbed me was when I was listening to some music on youtube and came across the following song:

Which is a song about a guy called Armin Meiwes, which I'd previously read about (The thing I was previously last disgusted by until I heard this song)

Who for anyone who isn't aware this is from the wikipedia page for the guy:

Looking for a willing victim, Meiwes posted an advertisement at a website, The Cannibal Cafe, whose disclaimer mentions the distinction between reality and fantasy. Meiwes's post stated that he was "looking for a well-built 18 to 30-year-old to be slaughtered and then consumed". Bernd Jürgen Brandes then answered the advertisement. Many other people responded to the advertisement, but backed out; Meiwes did not attempt to force them to do anything against their will.

As is known from a videotape the two made when they met on 9 March 2001 in Meiwes's home in the small village of Rotenburg, Meiwes amputated Brandes' penis and the two men attempted to eat the penis together before Brandes was killed. Brandes had insisted that Meiwes attempt to bite his penis off. This did not work and ultimately, Meiwes used a knife to remove Brandes' penis. Brandes apparently tried to eat some of his own penis raw, but could not because it was too tough and, as he put it, "chewy". Meiwes then fried the penis in a pan with salt, pepper, wine and garlic; he then fried it with some of Brandes' fat but by then it was too burned to be consumed. He then chopped it up into chunks and fed it to his dog.

According to journalists who saw the video (which has not been made public), Brandes may already have been too weakened from blood loss to actually eat any of his penis. Meiwes read a book for three hours, while Brandes lay bleeding in the bath. Meiwes apparently gave him large quantities of alcohol and pain killers, twenty sleeping pills and a bottle of schnapps, kissed him and finally killed him in a room that he had built in his house for this purpose, the Slaughter Room. After stabbing Brandes to death in the throat, he hung the body on a meat hook and tore chunks of flesh from it; he even tried to grind the bones to use as flour. The whole scene was recorded on the two-hour video tape. Meiwes enjoyed eating the body over the next 10 months, storing body parts in his freezer under pizza boxes and consuming up to 20 kilograms (44 lb) of the flesh. According to prosecutors, Meiwes committed the act for sexual enjoyment.

Sometimes my very active imagination is not good for my sanity...

I read this story about a mod for Morrowind (which may or may not actually exist) that was... Unusual, to say the least. Long story short, the entire gameworld undergoes a slow transformation, until at last the entire world is so dark you cant see 2 feet in front of you 24 hours a day, and all NPCs (friendly and hostile alike) just stand outside staring into the sky, saying only "Look to the stars" when spoken too. There are no stars.

Theres also something about a dungeon near the end, but the whole thing is way to long to recap here. I cant find it for the life of me, so if anyone could post a link to it here, that would be nice. Anyway, the whole thing legitimately creeped the fuck out of me, and many bricks were shat when the guards in Skyrim said the exact same thing to me. ;.;
that sounds creepy..yet absolutly facinating..I dont supose you can remember where you read that?
Did I hear someone order some pasta?

Pretty sure I heard someone order some pasta.

I'm positive that <url=http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Jvk1166z.esp>this is what you're looking for.

OT: Probably the music video to Every Time I Die's new single, Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space. Amazing song (obviously, it's ETID) but quite a disturbing video. It's supposed to show you the real horrors of life. C'est la vie!
I was going to post that! I was all like, 'hey! New ETID! YEAH!' and then I saw the video... Most disturbing music video I've seen in a long, long while.
